Samosir island coffee beans in Germany.
If you open up the coffee beans you bought from a place you have been, it might catapult you back to the memories of that place. That's why i love beans hunting, whenever i'm traveling. This one is from a very special place, Samosir Island, at Lake Toba, North Sumatera. The roastery is called @insel.coffeeroastery. "Insel" is a german word for "island". They do everything by themselves, from the plants to the cup. I met the owner at @samosirmusicint.official, a very kind young guy. All the best for the roastery, and hope to see you again in the future! Horas! #CafelatRobot #Coffeelover #IndoGerman taken in Kiel, Germany by @yonatanpandelaki

This morning a really sad message from Indonesia reached us. My cousin, the first son of my beloved Maktua, bang Rocky Tampubolon, has passed away with 49. He left a loving wife and three kids, one of them named just like my own daughter, Klara. I can't imagine how deep their sadness is. And just few days ago, i was there, close to them. Now i cannot even hug them. Losing someone is always very hard, especially if they go too young. The only real comfort i can rely on, time and time again, is the goodness of God. I'm sending all my love and prayers through this song. Even in the darkest night, God is always good. It's not something we can understand, rather than something we just know, deep within. And if you are also in some grief, i hope this gives you comfort. by @yonatanpandelaki

This Batak song will make you cry, if you know the meaning of the lyrics. I did a full version of it recently together with the scottish singer and good friend of mine @kimshep1. Look it up on Youtube, it's called "Ganjang ma umurmi". Thank you so much for @osen.hutasoit who wrote such a beautiful song, and also gave us personally his permission to publish our version of it.
It just shows again and again, that music goes beyond boundaries.
Do you have any requests for the next songs? Write them down in the comment section. I appreciate everyone who listened and for all your support. Repost it if you like it!

After singing all the Bataknese ballads, i need something really funky! ;) Here's my own song, which i wrote together with my band @sonsandpreachers, which btw also performed at @samosirmusicint.official back in 2019. That was a legendary experience.
Did anyone of you ever saw this band Sons & Preachers live or on YouTube? You should search for our videos also for our songs on Spotify for sure. Tomorrow I'll sing another Batak song, can you guess which one? ;) Write down below.

'On Our Own' is the newest single of one of the biggest bands in Indonesia, @dmasiv. I feel like i can totally relate to this song, after living in Germany for 25 years. It wasn't all easy, being on my own, most of the times. If it wasn't for my family and the love of God to back me up, i won't be at this point.
As @rianekkypradipta and his bandmates were in Germany in 2023, i helped to organize two concerts in Hamburg and Kiel, which was a great success. We hope to see them again in Europe, as they just started their go international campaign, under their own label, and also new aggregator @soundfresh.id.

Also, i just submitted my own single 'Carry Me' to be released under Soundfresh at 17th of August! Mark the date, which is also the indonesian national freedom day at the same time. Thank you so much for all your love and support. Let this bridge between Indonesia and Germany sustain. So that we won't be On Our Own.

2 Days after our Indonesia trip, while still dealing with jet lag a little bit, i'm back in the studio, producing different projects.
I still have this one Batak song in my head 'Lupa Do Ho', written by Firman Marpaung. I sang it with @guido_punxgoaran from the wonderful band @punxgoaran, together with the London musician and my friend @stephendominicellery at @samosirmusicint.official. Unforgettable moments, for sure.
I will post more of these short clips directly from the studio. What do you guys think about it? Send me your requests for the next clips down in the comment section. It could be anything, my own song, cover. It can be german, english, indonesian, or Batak, you name it!

This collaboration with @punxgoaran @stephendominicellery and myself @yonatanpandelaki was a match made in heaven. We will never forget this evening. Thank you @samosirmusicint.official for making this possible. This song 'Sing Sing So' in Batak language has such a deep meaning and passionate poetic lyrics. It's an honor to perform it in front of this great audience. by @yonatanpandelaki
