Installations by Yonathan Moore (@yonathanmoore.studio) are included in our presentation at THE ARMORY SHOW (@thearmoryshow), open to the public today through Sunday, September 27 at Booth 302. Moore just concluded his first presentation with the gallery, and this will mark his debut at the fair.

The artist’s Flux Metal Drape uses two custom interlocking aluminum extrusions that generate rippling metal surfaces of variable wave frequency, rhythm, and scale. As part of Moore’s VOLUTES series, these works emerged from sustained experimentation, producing a surface that folds back upon itself, allowing light to become embedded within these folds. Moore’s process lends itself to his guiding question: how can a fabrication process become a language that tells narratives through objects?

CLOSING THIS WEEK | Yonathan Moore: VOLUTES

Don’t miss the Final week to see Yonathan Moore’s (@yonathanmoore.studio) solo exhibition “VOLUTES,” on view through Friday, August 14!

“VOLUTES” presents new sculptural light installations created using the artist’s proprietary Flux Metal Drape system. Through precisely engineered aluminum forms that diffuse and reflect light, Moore transforms industrial fabrication into immersive works that explore rhythm, material, and architectural memory.

We are excited to announce that Yonathan Moore’s (@yonathanmoore.studio) latest series of light works
will be presented in the viewing room of Yossi Milo Gallery, opening June 24💡

Following the series’ debut at NYCxDESIGN (@nycxdesign) this May, the presentation will introduce brand new large-scale works, showcasing new wave profiles and compositions, developed using Flux Metal Drape, the studio’s proprietary aluminum system.

Yonathan Moore’s VOLUTES originated through iterative experimentation with the rippled surface constructions of his FLUX system, discovering a configuration of a wave folding into itself. The reflexive
gesture called for light, concealed in the folds and diffused through reflection. Moore’s material system is
rather a dialogue, one which allows the material a voice in its evolutionary path and final form. Moore’s practice is rooted in his obsession with aluminum extrusion: a process omnipresent in architecture and manufacturing. This technique bears an unintentional beauty, one usually deployed as hidden utility.

Moore rethinks this paradigm to harness that beauty, transforming the method of extrusion into a new medium for drawing in metal. Displayed in polished mirror and warm brushed aluminum, the works move between two material registers: the mirror surface gathers and interprets information from the surrounding space, while the brushed finish returns attention to texture, mass, and the rippling of surface. The presentation will include two new large-scale light works and a recomposed arrangement of four pieces from the original NYCxDESIGN installation, accompanied by a single non-edition wall light.🏛️ by @yonathanmoore.studio

OPENING TODAY | Yonathan Moore: Volutes 💡🏛️

Yossi Milo Gallery is pleased to present Volutes, a sculptural light installation created for NYCxDESIGN (@nycxdesign) by Yonathan Moore (@yonathanmoore.studio), on view at the gallery through May 17.

Designer and architect Yonathan Moore operates at the intersection of rigid industrial systems and fluid spatial experiences, exploring how cold materials can become expressive, evoking softness, movement, and emotional resonance. Drawing from both architectural history and contemporary fabrication technologies, Moore’s innovative approach investigates how familiar materials mutate and take on new roles across lighting, furniture, and installation.

Balancing softness and structure, Volutes reforges industrial aluminum extrusions into fluid, ribbon-like surfaces. Referencing both Ionic capitals and Art Deco’s organic decor, the installation continues Yonathan Moore’s ongoing exploration of the Flux Metal Drape system as both architectural language and sculptural form, blurring the line between functionality and ornamentation.

The exhibition will be celebrated with an opening reception tonight, May 13, from 6PM to 9 PM.
