Scenes from summer. Not gonna lie...this one has felt weird. Busy, but not good busy. Hot, but too damn hot. Scary, too damn scary. Full of snippets of quiet joy and fascination, but not enough. I'm so grateful to be where I am, with what I have, and those who surround me. Fully ready to embrace the shadow season and sink back into the cool crisp air. by @yonderstudios

Earlier this year, I started thinking about a project. We have this weird wall in between us and our neighbors and I've wanted to do something on there for years. I started looking at the mosaic artist, Isaiah Zagar, who did the Magic Garden in Philly. In college, I did some space based installations and worked with found objects, and Zagars style really spoke to me with those two concepts. I started collecting materials to use and got a bucket of pre made mortar. The progress has been slowed by the rain, but its coming along nicely. Its been so fun, therapeutic and exciting to work on something three dimensional again. Its like quilting, and I'm finding myself really excited about the way the tiles fit together. If you are local and have any little tschotzskys (plastic, ceramic or metal only) or tiles, or plates that you wanna donate, let me know, I'd love to use them!

25 years ago I got a job at a health food store when I was in college. Never in my wildest dreams would I think I'd still be in the industry at nearly 50 years old. Not only do I love my job, I love the people I meet, the fact that its brought me closer to my own body and health, and to the environment around me. I just completed my 7th trade show for a store I've worked at for 16 years. Some years it feels better to go out quietly, than with a bang. To exist, simply, to breathe; bask in the sun, feel air on your skin. Some years, simply being alive feels like an accomplishment. In this time of history when there is so much death, destruction, chaos and violence, sometimes just being here feels like a win. So I say goodbye to 45 and quietly, ever so subtly, I step over the threshold to 46. Feeling what, I cannot say. But,I am here and today that feels like enough. Happy Pisces Season to all my birthday buddies. Sending you all love and hugs. 🐟♓️

We officially have a new company "Cat Wall Creations by Jack and Julie" 😂 where in I watch Jack work and we talk about all kinds of stuff and Jack does all the awesome work. Anyhow, Jack is amazing and you should holler at them for your cat wall project, or any home project you have. ❤️😻

I learned a lot this year. Creatively, it was probably the hardest year I've ever had. And if you look at only that, it was a failure. Our business suffered, we had fewer sales, released two new designs all year.
But.
My body and mind were telling me I needed a break this year. So while I've been blocked creatively, I've been rediscovering hobbies (reading, learning languages, workout on family trees, getting more into my witchcraft practice), I've lost my addiction to Instagram (hooray!), I've fallen into deeper friendships, realized just how much I absolutely love my job, I've crossed over into post menopause, I've traveled a lot. Good things have happened to me this year, and I've learned a lot about myself. And some years its about more than how many t shirts ya sell.

So while it wasn't my most productive, most "successful" year....it wasn't the worst either. It was a Meh of a year. And I'm hoping that 2026 is better for everyone. We all deserve the best.
