Eight years ago today I had the joy of taking a stroll around Real World Studios with the fabulous Totó la Momposina @totolamomposinaoficial who sadly died, aged 85 on the 18th of May this year.

A great artist, a wonderful smile and a dose of fantastic Columbian colour (although I think her dress was Mexican) in the English countryside.

“I was so sad to hear of the death of Totó la Momposina. She was a giant of the Colombian music scene we have so many wonderful memories of her both in the studio and at many WOMAD festivals around the world. She always lit up the stage with her warmth, musicianship and that extraordinary voice. Her band had a wonderful mix of different folk influences, great rhythms and produced a magical blend. She leaves behind many friends and fans here at @realworldrec @realworldstudios and @womadfestival.” — @itspetergabriel Totó la Momposina at Real World 01 taken in Real World Studios by @yorktillyer

The inspirational Ai Weiwei @aiweiwei_studio photographed for the @itspetergabriel i/o project three years ago today. His show at The Deign Museum was in full swing across the road, where he was revelling in giving the finger to an eclectic range of subjects - a symbolic gesture that appealed to Peter Gabriel and symbolised his ‘Road To Joy’ by @yorktillyer
