Alex Gibney’s Musk is exceptionally well-made, though clocking in at roughly four hours, it’s easily the longest documentary I’ve ever sat through in one go. I definitely recommend watching it and letting it sink in. Reflecting on the past: Yesterday or the day before marked the 30th anniversary of the classic 1996 adult film scene Streets of New York 8, featuring the stunning Japanese star Suzi Suzuki alongside Ray Horsch—who is now a suspected Philadelphia serial killer. I’ve attached some stills from the scene (fun fact: I joked to him 25+ years ago that it looked like he was having sex with my mom, and he just laughed). Today’s passing of Eva Marie Saint truly marks the end of an era.
When I first watched North by Northwest as a kid, I was too young to grasp just how extraordinary it was. To me then, it was simply America’s answer to James Bond—a thrilling ride of deception, mistaken identity, and Cold War suspense. Looking back now, it’s clear why Hitchcock’s film is celebrated as an absolute masterpiece, and so much of that magic came down to Eva Marie Saint.
She belonged to a rare class of actresses who possessed an effortless beauty, an intriguing mystique, and a quiet grace that simply can’t be replicated in today’s hyper-artificial Hollywood. With her loss, we aren’t just mourning a legendary star; we are watching the final golden glow of classic Hollywood glamour fade away.
Rest in peace, Eva Marie Saint. Thank you for the unforgettable elegance you brought to the screen. by @yoshiobayashi

Crazy to think that while I was going to The Evergreen State College from 1991 to 1993, Kurt Cobain was living right there in Olympia, Washington! 🎸 Here are some photos of his former home. Rest in peace to a true legend.” (NOTE: Tucked away in Olympia, Washington, at 114 Pear Street NE (or 114 1/2 Pear Street) sits the humble, unmarked blue triplex where Kurt Cobain lived from roughly 1989 to 1991.

Before Nirvana took over the world, this apartment was a legendary creative powerhouse. Music historians estimate that Cobain wrote three-quarters of his entire musical catalog here, including much of the iconic Nevermind album. He originally shared the space with his girlfriend at the time, Tobi Vail, and future Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl even crashed on the floor before fame struck.

The address is also tied to grunge history because of a famous night out with Bikini Kill singer Kathleen Hanna. Spray-painting "Kurt smells like Teen Spirit" on his wall (referencing a deodorant Tobi used), she accidentally gave birth to the title of Nirvana's generation-defining anthem. Huge thanks to my friend Ruben for driving me to Kurt Cobain’s childhood home recently! It’s something I’ve always wanted to see, and I’m so glad I finally made it.

I actually saw him perform live a year or two before he became a global superstar. Seeing where it all started—a small town that shaped an artist with such massive vision and heart—was incredible. RIP Kurt!
