OUR RESPONSE TO “EVERYONE IN BY CHRISTMAS”

We warmly welcome Prime Minister @andy.burnham 's personal commitment to get everyone off the streets and into safe accommodation by Christmas — a promise that cannot and must not be forgotten.

This announcement recognises exactly what we see every day here @sloughoutreach :
✅ It’s not just about a roof — it’s about long-term, wrap-around support
✅ It acknowledges the unique challenges faced by women sleeping rough
✅ It values the vital, life-saving role of local charities, faith groups and community organisations like us

We know that ending rough sleeping needs a person-centred approach — building trust first, then providing housing, mental health support, and ongoing care. That’s exactly what our compassionate volunteer team delivers 7 days a week on the streets of Slough.

We stand ready to work with Slough Council, our MP and government partners to turn this promise into reality right here in our community. 💛

We also recognise that ambitions need funding — grassroots organisations need sustainable, regular support, not just one-off pots, to make this work last. We’re ready, we’re willing, and we’re here to help.

👉 Together, let’s make sure no one in Slough is sleeping rough this Christmas.
