Merry Christmas to all 🎄 I just want to say how grateful I am for my family. They are truly and genuinely amazing. In the short time I’ve been blessed to be with them, they’ve shown me and taught me things that most people don’t learn in a lifetime.

My parents and my sisters are incredible, and I’m so thankful to have a family like this. I wouldn’t trade it for the world. They’ve been there for me every step of the way.

Eight years ago today, my mom passed. My uncle and aunt who I proudly call Mom and Dad taught me that you don’t have to be related to someone to be family. I can’t put into words how much they mean to me. They are truly one of a kind, and I love them more than anything. I wouldn’t be where I am today without my mom, my dad, and my two sisters.

I love you guys. Thank you for teaching me everything life has to offer. I know you always say how proud you are of me, but I want you to know I’m just as proud of you. And so is Rachel for taking care of her little boy and giving me a second chance at life.

Thank you, Mom. Thank you, Dad. Thank you, Mya and Layla.

Seashells Remember

You would’ve been forty this November
A day my heart will always remember
I sit by the sea where the waves meet the shore
And feel you beside me like before

The tide still dances, wild and free

The ocean hums in a voice so true

The shells still whisper when held near my ear
Your laughter echoes, soft but clear

Of castles of sand and dreams we made

Boogie boards, sunshine, and salty hair
Frozen Gold cones melting everywhere
Burger King stops, your favorite treat
Burgers and fries we’d share in the heat
