Sometimes I get caught up in the glamour and wanting the kids to win so bad that when they don’t, I feel like I’ve failed them. I want them to feel that exhilaration of winning a trophy and not the heartbreak of defeat. It takes me a few minutes, few hours, few days before I realize it’s not all about winning or losing. Hard to say when you’re competitive! However, I never take fore granted how blessed I truly am to be able to work with these kids! I’m always hopeful the memories they’re building will last a lifetime because I know for me, they will! by @youngdonsbasketball

RIP to NBA great Bill Russell! Not only did he win 11 NBA championships but he also stood up for what he believed in when others didn’t. His leadership qualities on and off the court are what made him such an incredible ambassador for the game I love. Seeing his banners on a daily basis left you in awe but also held a certain mystique. The ultimate man, winner, person and Don will never be forgotten. Prayers to his family and loved ones by @youngdonsbasketball

Shoutout to Young Dons Basketball for coming out to the Back-to-School Tip-Off in Irvine, California, and taking home the championship in the 14U Bronze Division! 🥇🏀

As you can see, Young Dons is no stranger to our page. This program consistently brings high-level, competitive basketball, and this weekend was another example of exactly what they’re all about!

The championship game was nothing short of exciting! Young Dons found themselves trailing for nearly the entire game, but with about three minutes left on the clock, they turned up the intensity and went on an explosive offensive run, putting up eight points to cut the deficit down to just one!

Then, in the final minute, one of their players stepped up with a clutch layup to give Young Dons the lead! From there, they locked in defensively and made the stops they needed to seal the victory and bring home the championship! 🏆💪

THAT’S WHAT RESILIENCE LOOKS LIKE! 🔥

This game showed the heart, determination, and fight that this coaching staff is instilling in these young athletes. No matter how much they’re down, these kids understand that the game isn’t over until that final buzzer sounds! That mentality is what separates good teams from championship teams.

We appreciate Young Dons Basketball for consistently bringing that type of energy, toughness, and competitive spirit to our tournaments. You guys push every team you face and remind everyone why you can never count a team out!

Big respect to the coaches and parents for helping build that mentality in these kids. The hard work, belief, and commitment are clearly paying off, and we can’t wait to see what this program accomplishes in its future championship runs!

Congratulations again to Young Dons Basketball, your 14U Bronze Division Champions! 🏆💯 by @youngdonsbasketball
