I never thought I could do this… didn’t think it was possible.

Playing music ✅
Dream job ✅
Fulfilled with purpose ✅
Feeling like I can fully be myself ✅
Part of a connected and creative community ✅
Sober ✅

Just didn’t think I could have all of those things at once.

I’m so immensely grateful to work at a place that aligns with my own spirit and helps others in the same way. Thanks for putting this event on @recoveryunplugged and to @wrestlewithjimmynash for letting me be a part of a killer show! 🤘🏻

Our lead singer, @shadow.art.recovery , will be sitting in on Vocals with the incredible Weezer cover band, @wrestlewithjimmynash on Sept 26 at the @eastsidebowlvenue . They are doing a special show featuring all of the songs of Pinkerton. It’s gonna be a sick show and a fun hang!

See you there!

Thank you so much to everyone who came out to our show at Faekers Theater last night! It was an incredible evening, full of great music from great bands, but what made it such an excellent night was all of the people who joined us in the room. Thank you for bringing your fine self and infectious enthusiasm. It made it a blast to be on stage. Happy birthday to @songsfromnowhere ! And thank you for having us be a part of the lineup. 🙏🏻💖

Hi everyone! It's been a while since the last @emblemofvalor show, and we are ready to do another one.

It's gonna be Saturday, June 25 (one day before my birthday) at 7pm.

We have been working hard and have some new material, and may even have some recorded music to drop by the time this one hits!

The bill is really strong too, filled with amazing musicians and close friends! @thewanda.ers @ur.stargurl and @youngshadow.official will fill out the bill. The music is going to be really good.

Tickets are $15 in advance, 20 at door. You can get them here. the link will also be in my bio and the bio of the Emblem of Valor IG page.

We’ve been so focused on working behind the scenes this year that we haven’t played out too much, but we are so glad that’s all about to change! Stay posted for a few upcoming performance dates. We can’t wait to see you from the stage! 💖

I quit ballet 17 years ago. But so many nights I would have dreams that I was dancing again and then start flying. I always woke up with a longing in my heart.

I quit ballet because I was preparing to audition for colleges as a Jazz bass player. I believed that truly becoming good at something required all of my focus and I picked music at the time. that became my life and career for over a decade.

When I turned 30, I went through a spiritual renaissance where I rediscovered so much joy and curiosity from my childhood. I had discarded so many things—thinking that in adulthood, I had to let go of things that I loved.

A few years back, I got back into Dance by way of salsa and Bachata. It felt whole again.

I had stayed connected to movement and kept a lot of my flexibility as a Yoga Teacher. However, Dance has brought Joy into my life that I didn’t know as possible.

This journey has taught me that it’s never too late. If you have a dream, just do it. Might as well get started now. You are going to suck at first. But then you will get better and that thing that felt impossible to achieve at one point all of a sudden isn’t too far out of reach.

I started singing for the first time at age 28.

Started a rock band at age 30.

Began dancing Salsa & Bachata at 32.

And now I am giving ballet another go at 34.

If you have a desire to do something, do it! Life is short and you have nothing to lose. Get off your butt and go for it!
