My therapist helped me realize the role creating played and continues to play in my healing journey. It was never just about the art — it was about giving myself permission to slow down, feel, and just be. In the work I do I’ve also seen firsthand how much people need safe spaces and community. My heart for people is what drives all of this.

Last year I prayed and asked God to speak to me — to help me step into the person He created me to be and remove anything disrupting His vision for my life. This year He told me to stop hiding.

I understand now why I experienced what I did last year. It was preparation for what was coming. I’ve had these small nudges for about two years but I couldn’t step into that role until I fully understood what was going on within me.

And finally I started feeling it. Those reminders you love? They were the affirmations that kept me pushing — and gave me permission to just be.

I took time to step back and look inward. I’m the same person — I’m just prioritizing my peace with a different lens over anything that threatens to disrupt it. Creating brings me peace and every time we get together to craft, I hope you feel that too.

Love your neighbor. Treat others the way you want to be treated. But never abandon yourself in the process — because you can’t show up fully for others when you’re running on empty.
