I wrote a long paragraph and Instagram didn’t save that part of the post when I put it in drafts 🥲 So all l’m going to say is that I got to see Three Days Grace with Adam Gontier, the original lead singer AND Matt Walst! the current lead singer.
I had a blast with my besties and sister too ❤️ Family Outing

November 30th, 2017 - Evanescence, Synthesis Live Tour
The band that started it all for me. I was just a little girl trying to find the soundtrack to The Crow when YouTube directed me to Haunted. I remember it was a lyric video, you guys know the ones I’m talking about. It was a black screen with purple words. I remember going home to my mom and asking her if I could listen to this because it sounded “evil” AKA it sounded like creepy vampire Halloween music to my nine year old ears.
Fast forward to senior year. I heard Evanescence was coming, but I found out the same week. I remember hopping on Facebook and joining Evanescence fan groups, trying to find a ticket. A girl was selling hers for 60$-80$, I can’t remember the exact price. I clicked on her name and examined her page. She was from another country. Her only pictures were her backpacking and hiking in the mountains. I was a little skeptical, but I didn’t care. We talked and set up a time to meet at the Chicago Theater. I skipped school that day 🤣 and took the bus downtown. When we met outside, I handed her the cash and she put a lanyard around my neck. SHE SOLD ME A VIP PASS. My jaw dropped and I could not say “thank you” enough. We stayed together the whole rest of the day. We were let in early before the show and got to see and hear their sound check. It felt surreal. It reminded me of orchestra class, all the starting and stopping of songs, the acoustics, the conductor talking to different sections of the strings. This tour had my heart because Evanescence was performing with an orchestra and this would be my last year playing in a full orchestra after 8 years. After their soundcheck we were all welcomed into a room where we did a champagne toast with the band (I had water lol) We got to keep the glasses and were gifted a book signed by all the band members AND we each got individual photos with them. There was a gap between the meet and greet and the actual concert, I used this time to charge my phone at a near by 7/11. When it was time to go, I walked back to the theater and met up with the girl again. As if this wasn’t the best day already- our seats were the FIRST ROW. by @your.favrockstarr
