Fold It Like Your Nest Friend: Ep. 1, Long Sleeve Onesie

Moms, dads, save this for your next laundry day. 🧺

You’re going to have a ton of these. So here are two ways to fold a long-sleeve onesie. Pick whichever you like best.

Both end in a neat rectangle that stands up in the drawer file-style, so you can see every onesie at once instead of digging through a stack.

Which option will you use: 1 or 2?

Real things moms have said to me recently. 💬

Share this with a mom friend who gets it. 💌

None of them said “my house is a disaster.”
Just… it’s a lot.

Calling it now: nesting is about to become way more about HOW you live. 🪺

Right now, we treat nesting like a moment, a third-trimester burst where you wash the teeny tiny clothes, build the crib, and get everything set up.

All of that matters. But it’s only part of it.

The part we don’t talk about is how your family will actually live. Like walking in with 400 bags of groceries, a sleeping baby in the car seat, your huge water, and a dog who needs out, all while going up the stairs.

If you’ve done everything and your home still doesn’t feel ready, you’re not doing it wrong. You nested for the baby stuff - now you need to nest for life with your baby.

I could be wrong. Moms, what’s the part of your home that never felt ready, or never really worked for you, no matter how much you prepped? 👇

The text I sent to all my people when Your Nest Friend was just an idea:

💬 “I’m not an interior designer. I’m not a professional organizer. I’m not a personal shopper. But what if I could be a little bit of all three, for pregnant women who are nesting, new moms, and growing families?”

Over and over, I heard some version of: “This clicks. This is so you.”

That’s when I knew I was onto something. ✨

What I’ve learned since: there’s no waiting around for “ready.” You start before you feel ready, and you figure it out along the way. 😬

Where I am now: working with friends & family clients, meeting an awesome local community of mom entrepreneurs, and leaning into the fun I’m having. Every project confirms that feeling, and it’s energizing in a way I didn’t expect.

If you’re sitting on an idea that lights you up, this is your sign. 🤍

Not a tip today. Just a reminder to myself (and maybe you).

The laundry pile is real. So is the running list in my head. But so are these moments, and they’re the reason I do what I do.

My goal is to help you lighten the load so there’s more room for this. 🤍

What’s a tiny moment that outweighs the mental load for you? 👇

Your nursery is ready, but your house probably isn’t 😬

We spend months perfecting one room, then when baby arrives, we actually spend most of the day in other parts of the house.

I learned that the hard way and I saw it again at a client’s house last week.

Still pregnant? Set this up now. Already home with baby? It’s not too late. It’s actually easier, because now you know how your days are actually spent.

That’s why my consultations don’t start in the nursery. I start with your typical day. Then, we build three zones around it:

1. Diapering: not just in the nursery 💩

2. Feeding: everything within arm’s reach 🍼

3. Landing/Drop zone: one spot by the door for everything that comes and goes 🎒🛍️

Set up for where & how you actually live.

Nesting is real and it’s not just “buying stuff.”
She’s getting her brain and your home ready for a whole new person to arrive. 🪺

Here’s how to actually help:

1. Swap “why do we need that?” for “where should it go?

2. Build the furniture before 37 weeks

3. Learn where things live

4. Hold the ladder

Currently designing: a big boy room ⛳

Every room starts with a mood board. Before we talk colors, layout, furniture, decor, or organization, I want to capture how my clients want the room to feel.

This project: classic, cozy, vintage sports, and ready to grow with their toddler. 🏌️‍♂️

Organizing feels and looks amazing for about a week.

A system is what keeps it that way, and it only works if everyone in the house can keep it up. Even my almost-two-year-old knows where Elmo goes. 😉

So which is it…
A) your house needs better organization OR
B) you’re the only one who knows where anything goes? Tell me below👇

Tell me I’m not the only one who sits in the car after drop-off for a few extra minutes. Engine off, quiet, a second to myself.

Now, back to the real reason we’re here: the car caddy.

This isn’t just a caddy. It’s a system, and that’s why it works. Every pouch has one job, so I can grab what I need without digging:

Diapering: diapers in her current size, wipes, & ointment - quick errands or long car rides, no problem 💩

Plastic bags: for trash, dirty diapers, wet clothes 🗑️

Wipes: boogie wipes and disinfecting wipes for all the snotty faces and toys that fell on the ground 🤧

Hair: a brush and accessories for quick fixes 🎀

Snacks: there are never enough 🥨🍎🍪

And we can’t forget: paper towels, tissues, hand sanitizer, & “cool baby” sunglasses 😎

The rule that keeps it working: Sunday mornings it comes inside and gets restocked. Two minutes, nothing runs out at the worst moment. ✅

Full list is linked in my bio 🔗 Save this for your next car clean-out 🚗

Be honest: do you sit in the car too? 👇
