Y'all. I went and restocked for Christmas in July at @thatartstoreinoldetowne and forgot to tell you 🤦🏾‍♀️🤣 Good thing it's still July! LOL! Stop by this weekend on your way out of the farmer's market in Olde Towne!

*pssssst* The farmer's market might also be your only chance to get lettuce without the Hershey squirts.

Ever wonder what kinda randomness an author/artist gets into when they're avoiding all the ideas floating around in their head? 🥴 For me, it's picking blueberries outta my backyard and making blueberry lemon preserves from scratch.

How do you avoid responsibility?? 🤣🤣

Anyways, I'm still outchea, y'all! Swing by the library to support some amazing local authors and myself! These books are heavy and I don't wanna carry em back home LOL!

A few Sundays ago, I had the DISTINCT pleasure of interviewing best-selling author and screenwriter @tiffanylwarren at @paperbacksinkva about her illustrious 21 year career. We had a lively conversation about her books, "The Unexpected Diva" and new release "A Harlem Wedding!" The way she writes historical fiction is otherworldly and I encourage you to check out her work! Keep an eye out on BET+ as well, especially during the holidays (Favorite Son AND Favorite Son Christmas, anyone)! A few of her written works have been adapted to movie productions and I'm sure there's more to come!

Thank you, Tiffany, for being such an inspiration to indie authors like myself! You are living proof that we can go as far as we want to go with a little faith and perseverance! 🫶🏾

Last week, I had the honor of facilitating a Poetry Workshop in the community. (Yes, I write poetry, too, but it ain't NOTHING like Indigo Sun 😏) Instead of our usual geeky side of poetry, we dove into poems as songs/raps. Y'all. WE HAD TOO MUCH FUN IN THE MIDDAY! Thank you Portsmouth Public Library for having me ANNNNNNNND for having my debut novel on your shelves! It was truly a full circle day for me all around. Little-er Shan would be so proud of adult me. I spent soooooooo many Saturdays and school breaks in this library as a child💜🧡
