POSTS STORIES REELS

I’ll be releasing my new album, “THE VICE TAPES,” soon. I’ve been piecing this project together for the past couple of years.

I moved to Florida from West Michigan two decades ago, at the age of 13, and I’ve been here ever since.

Before moving here, everything I knew about Florida came from pop culture. I knew it was sunny, green, and beautiful. I knew people wore Hawaiian shirts, there was old money, Miami Vice was filmed here, GTA: Vice City (arguably my favorite video game) was based here, and Disney and Universal were here.

To me, Florida was almost like a fictional place.

When I finally moved down here, I didn’t see it as simply moving to another state. I felt like I had stepped into an entirely new setting, with a whole world to explore as the main character.

Twenty years later, that fascination has never left me. But over time, I came to know a Florida that was much more complicated than the one I had imagined.

“THE VICE TAPES” is my interpretation of both worlds. The Florida I grew up dreaming about and the Florida I came to know firsthand. The beauty, the nostalgia, the glamour, and the darker side of paradise.

A musical motion picture.
