To all the pre-dents out there! It’s so difficult to just think of one piece of advice, but here are some of the values I live by:
ㅤ
1️⃣ Say YES
Be open minded to the opportunities that come your way. You never know who you’ll meet or what doors it’ll open for you! Even if you just learning one thing makes it was worth it.
ㅤ
2️⃣ Plan Ahead, Both Short and Long Term
Balancing everything is not easy whatsoever. There are so many requirements to get into dental school— classes, shadowing, DAT, etc. Planning your academic schedule early on will relieve so much stress down the line. Time management also is a crucial part of dental school as you balance lab and didactic courses. Practicing these organizational skills will help you so much in dental school and beyond!
ㅤ
3️⃣ Put Yourself Out There
Go to allll the info sessions, lunch and learns, CE events, conferences, and other opportunities that come your way. When people know you are passionate about something, they will help you reach your goals.
ㅤ
4️⃣ Don’t be Afraid to Ask for Help
I was once in your shoes and know how it feels to be overwhelmed and lost! I am so grateful to the people that helped and guided me to get to where I am today. It is my goal to make the same impact on the future generation. Don’t hesitate to reach out via DM @yourdentistalliyah ! I love connecting with you all!!
ㅤ
And remember, everything happens for a reason! Trust the process and as long as you put your best foot forward, it’ll all work out⭐️🌈🦷
