The Caribbean Drag Racing Association (CDRA) hosted a pop up race, so I decided to check out the vibes. I’m happy I got up and left the house brace I had really good time. The races were good, the drinks were flowing, wings were bussinnnnn’ and I got to chill with my cousin who’s a real car man. He was answering all my racing questions lol, but it just felt good being around some love, you know.

I remember going to the car track when I was younger, especially after horse race- IYKYK, but I haven’t been to the track as an adult to actually sit down and understand the sport. After attending on Tuesday I realized how much men and women are into car racing and the need of revitalizing the car racing industry in the Virgin Islands.

I hope that one day the car track on St. Croix will get back to how it used to be or even better. There aren’t a lot of nighttime activities during the week, so the CDRA organizers are heading in the right direction. A pop - up event mid week during the summer that the community can attend to is a great idea.
