I rang the bell guys 🔔They say you ring the bell when the fight is over, today I rang it for you daddy.People ring the bell in oncology to mark the end of treatment. An ending, but also a beginning. It’s a moment that says “I made it through.”My dad never got that moment himself, but he fought in a way that deserves to be recognized just the same. Being in this space for the last 10 weeks reminded me why that bell even matters. My journey was written in the stars long before I took my first step — every twist, every triumph, every quiet moment meant to shape who I was always meant to become. March 26 — the day my father’s life began, and the day my faith was sealed. A reminder that some dates are more than just numbers; they’re chapters written by a hand greater than mine. Which is the beauty in divine alignments.I’m beyond blessed to be able to walk this path with so many people in my corner. I’ll miss summer 2025, but here’s to a new city, a new school, same life but with new adjustments. All I have too say is make that vision board! by @yourlocalangel_

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams …Amira I. Shumate, you did it! For months now I felt like I was unworthy of my degree, because when I looked into that crowd I couldn’t see my father. It wasn’t until today when he came to visit me in my dream that I now feel like I deserve what I worked so hard to achieve. This degree came with so much! It represents all the nights answering call bells with my phone in my hand reciting notes for Organic Chemistry, working 16 hour shifts forcing my eyes to stay open in lab, nights with tears in my eyes debating if I was even capable of getting a Biology degree. What I can say, through it all, it came with lessons and valuable experience that I get to bring into my next journey. I want to thank all my friends and family for the countless support. I especially want to thank my mother for always believing that I could and I DID. I owe her the world and I just hope God blesses me with enough time to deliver her half of that. Over the last five years I held so many titles and did so much here’s a few: 1. RWJ Clinical Care Technician, Float Pool2. ICU/CCU Physician Assistant Intern3. Phlebotomist4.
