It’s with a hole in my chest I make this post, but Baby passed away Saturday night in his sleep. Rats and their cagemates are so strongly bonded that that can happen after one dies and I assume that’s probably what happened. He was 3 years old though! Which is very old for a rat. Two weeks after Dig Dig was not on my bingo card though. Even if we wanted to give him a buddy it was too soon. Fuck this. I wouldn’t change it though, he gave me so much love and goofiness in 5 months❤️ by @yourlocalemo

Dig Dig passed in his sleep Friday. I got a pair of senior rats from a woman that no longer had the time for them and wanted to make sure they got the right attention. You could tell she really took good care of them and just didn’t have the time anymore because of her kids. I knew it was going to be hard and I knew it would be soon but it still sucks. I got five months with him which is pretty good considering he was almost three when I got him and Baby. You’re lucky if you get two years with them! So he lived a good life, even if only 5 months were with us 🫶 by @yourlocalemo

Just wanted to do a Ginger dump😌 we adopted her in July; she was seized for neglect from her previous owners, and spent a majority of her life tied to a tree and now she lays like a cinder block between me and Julian. Her previous owners did get charged for their crimes thankfully. Anyway, adopt and shop responsibly 🫶 by @yourlocalemo

Said goodbye to my last boy tonight. Walmart was going to fire me after 3 years because I used my *protected* time to come in late because I was taking care of him after he had a seizure episode. So I beat them to it and quit. I got an extra week at home with him before he passed. It was worth it. I got Butthead tattooed on me when I was 20, long before I ever met him. Before he was even born actually. Rats only live 2-3 years; if you’re lucky you’ll get 3, and they were rescues from some girl who wanted 40 bucks for them in a cage that was way too small and covered in filth. I didn’t even get two years with them, and I wouldn’t change a thing. They were so neglected. When the girl showed me a photo of him and Beavis, I knew I had to have them. It was fate. He looked just like my tattoo. Then I got there and I was definitely glad I got them. I hate people. She never spoke to me again and didn’t give a shit about how they were settling in. I could’ve fed them to a snake and she would’ve never known. Her loss. He was one of the most mischievous, rambunctious, DEVIOUSLY INTELLIGENT little dudes…I will never forget him. He liked to ride around on our shoulders and in our hoodies. Go piss in the hammock in the sky buddy 🫶 by @yourlocalemo

best twelve dollars I ever spent…so glad I had the privilege to love Sebastian. He was basically completely blind and spent 6 months alone at petsmart and was one of the most timid animals I had ever had. We couldn’t completely integrate him because of that and Butthead, but him and Beavis played together all the time. He loved to give kisses and nuzzle up to you. I wish you didn’t have go buddy.
