The minor details make the major difference.

When we’re talking about forcible entry/manual breaching. Knowing the building type, door, and frame construction will give you an idea of reactions to expect when putting tools to the door. Understanding your tools, will allow you to change your tactics on the fly when plan A fails. #forcibleentrytraining #breacher #firefighter #yourlocksdontwork #forcibleentry by @yourlocksdontwork

It’s #throughthelock Tuesday so here’s a quick one of removing the Kwikset face, and what it may look like after the fact. Locksmiths are pretty good about getting these apart without much damage, but firefighter, medics, and other first responders tend to work a little faster which in turn will be slightly more destructive. Either way me getting locked out of my house because of a faulty “smart key” lock gave me a chance to show how to get through one that’s not on a prop. #forcibleentry #covertentry #firefighter #firefightertraining by @yourlocksdontwork

Aggressive and reckless were never synonyms.

Somewhere along the way, we started treating them like they were.

Let’s talk about it! taken in Wilmington, North Carolina by @yourlocksdontwork

Part two talking about our keypad locks. Hopefully this video helps better explain what’s going on inside the cover so we’re not playing the guessing game! #yourlocksdontwork #throughthelock #locksmith #covertentry #firstresponders by @yourlocksdontwork

Recently got to work with @firemaultools and @forcible_entry_inc in the same room together and got Mitch to help me demo a tactic I really enjoy showing.

Two man two Halligan outward swing door. Who calls the shots?! In my personal opinion the one that can see is the one that should be calling the shots. I also believe this should also be the same way with a traditional set of irons. Instead of the guy standing off to the side and needing to stop the operation to put his head in the way of a swinging tool I personally feel it’s safer and more efficient for the one that has the visual advantage to call commands. I realize I will probably lose a few of you with this thinking but it makes sense, especially in a time where a lot of our fire fighters are younger and on the same experience level.

What do you think?

Not everybody’s going to agree with me, but I think through-the-lock work is professionalism.
Tag someone who needs to hear this.

This is the part of the job that doesn’t always get the spotlight, but it matters just as much as the “big” calls.
Fire alarm. Medical. Welfare check.

If the door matters, the method matters too.
A lot of people want the sexy part of the job.

I care about the part that shows discipline, skill, and respect for the call.
That’s the difference between doing the job and doing it well.
What do you think - is this the most overlooked part of the work?

#throughthelock Tuesday. Talking about a very simple, very easy bypass on a very common keypad lock.this bypass works on a lot of different style of keyless entry locks but you’ll have to do a deep dive to understand which brands and models this will work on VS which ones have already fixed it so this by pass won’t work

This lock actually came from a coworker who was able to make entry through this lock after finding a 5min video on YouTube .

Let me know in the comments what other locks or techniques you guys would like to see in the future! #forcibleentry #yourlocksdontwork #firefighter #covertentry by @yourlocksdontwork

The fire usually isn’t the most dangerous thing.
It’s the building.
Drop a 🔥 if you’ve heard “the building gets a vote” - because that line changes how you think on scene. by @yourlocksdontwork

Ever wonder how some people just "get lucky" with real doors? Here's the truth…

👇 Drop a 🔑 if you've ever felt like luck is the secret to success
I’ve been calling demo crews last minute, asking if I can sneak in before a building comes down.

It’s all about being in the right place at the right time — and asking the right people.
Some of my best shots come from quick moments, thanks to demo folks who call me in.

Honestly, most of my social media wins? Pure luck — but luck favors the prepared (and those who ask).
Maybe there’s no secret to success — just showing up and asking for what you want.
What’s your “lucky” hack? Let me know below!

Talking options recently at a class, and trying to convey the “choose your path” idea based off how the door reacts, and what the door and frame are made of. And of course a little tool slippage never hurts your street cred right? #forcibleentry #yourlocksdontwork #breacher #breacherup #forcibleentrytraining by @yourlocksdontwork
