Valentine’s Day 2024,
the day my future wife found a ring while sifting!

I was extremely nervous to get down on one knee and held back tears behind all the laughing.. I had been planning on surprising McKenna during one of our fossil adventures in my head for a while, so when a Peace River Valentine’s Day dig came around it only made sense! Favourite spot with my favourite person doing our favourite thing

Plus we absolutely fuckin tore it up! Unfortunately I signed the golden meg with the tip of my scoop and sheared a good amount of serrations clean off, right to the core.. she dried out to be one of the sexiest teeth I’ve ever scooped from the Peace. We have a few bangers in the case with my signature but this one stings and definitely adds character knowing it would have been one of the illusive perfect river teeth we love chasing

We had the pleasure of meeting Theresa and Chase at the Venice Fossil Festival. The next day I got to teach them a little about the Peace River and got together for a dig. When we saw her booth with their jewelry showcasing their silversmithing and casting skills we were blown away. One of the highlights for us were her micro hemis since they’re one of McKenna’s favorite fossils to find. Theresa is such an amazing woman and Chase is super cool, they gifted us one of her micro pendants and she added an asymmetrical upper and lower micro hemipristis serra stud set as a wedding gift. We are in love with them and we are excited to finally start our Applegate jewelry collection! Thank you so much
