I’m so excited to share this initiative that’s been in the works for a while. Introducing the Pelvic Power Fund! 💕

The Pelvic Power Fund is a community-based project created in partnership with @mamasformamas. Its mission is to help Mamas in financial need access pelvic floor physiotherapy in Kelowna and West Kelowna.

We’ve brought together a team of local pelvic health providers who are ready to offer care, but we can’t launch until it’s sufficiently funded.

Your donation will directly support someone in accessing care for:
• Incontinence
• Pelvic pain
• Prolapse
• Postpartum recovery
• And more!

If you believe pelvic health care should be accessible to everyone, please consider donating.

Link in bio to donate, learn more, or share. Upon donating a tax receipt will be automatically emailed to you.

Pelvic floor muscle health is necessary for optimal sexual health.

love ASHA's definition of Sexual Health which states "we believe Sexual Health must go BEYOND traditional views of simply avoiding disease or unplanned pregnancy and should include experiencing PLEASURE and INTIMACY when desired along with respecting the sexual rights we all share."

Sex education in school sadly focuses more on the FEAR of STI’s and pregnancy.

I'm passionate at helping all genders regain a sense of positivity, pleasure and sensuality in their bodies.

If you are ready to boost your sexual health then book an appointment at Kare Physio with one of our highly trained pelvic floor physiotherapists.

Why do I love teaching Lagree to pregnant & post-partum women?

Lagree is much more than just strength. We challenge balance, coordination & muscular endurance in a high intensity workout with low impact. All the while, you’re connecting through the machine to your body & your baby.

I really believe it’s an opportunity to build trust in your body throughout pregnancy and beyond. I’m really proud to be able to offer pregnancy and post-partum specific classes in our community at @lagreepandosy 🖤

There’s something really empowering about seeing a strong woman move alongside other strong women through major seasons of change in their lives. I leave the studio with so much pride ever. single. day.

If you’re wanting to try something new, send me a DM and we can get you set up with your first class for free!

P&P classes are Thursdays at 3:30pm & Saturdays at 10am.

Over 3,000 km later.. Anthony and I had an incredible week connecting with Northern communities including Prince George, Tumbler Ridge, Fort St John and Mackenzie.

For those who may not know, Anthony and I co-founded Remote Rehab Physiotherapy in December 2023. We provide virtual physiotherapy across BC, making care more accessible to people in rural and underserved communities.

At the Tumbler Ridge Health Fair, we presented on preventative rehab and had the chance to speak with community members about the importance of building strength and resilience before injury. In a community that does not have in-person physiotherapy, these conversations can be critical to support individual’s health.

On top of all the meetings we had, we were able to explore the North in ways we haven’t before. I highly recommend making this trip in the fall. The Pine Pass had vibrant fall colours the whole way! Thank you @sara.r.norris for showing us around Chetwynd for the weekend and giving us a place to stay!

We ended the trip with a hike to Kinney Lake at Mount Robson. The views were worth the 12km of power hiking in the drizzle to make sure we could get on the road again to arrive home in Kelowna before dark.

If you want to know more about what virtual physiotherapy is, and how it could support you or those around you, DM me :) I love to talk about it!! Literally all the time! 😅 by @yourphysioskylar

September is Interstitial Cystitis Awareness Month!

IC is a chronic condition that affects the bladder and pelvic area, including the pelvic floor. Symptoms can look like:
- Frequent or urgent trips to the bathroom
- Bladder or pelvic pain/pressure
- Pain with intimacy
- Sleep disruption & fatigue

It’s often misunderstood and underdiagnosed, which is why awareness matters so much.

As a pelvic floor physiotherapist, I support people with IC through:
- Pelvic floor relaxation & down-training
- Bladder calming strategies
- Pain & flare-up management
- Improving quality of life

If you or someone you love is living with IC, please know you are not alone, and support is out there. 🤎
