The wait is finally over…..

When we first opened Your Side Chicks we sought to give the best fried chicken we possibly could and create something that would be sustainable into the future as our bodies are changing and auto immune diseases are increasing. Our chef / founder cares about people and wanted to be the change the industry needed.

We started with being gluten free using no bleached flours and that grew into our chef creating Better Milk and stopped using buttermilk a classic stable to his southern roots.

As time progressed we have worked extremely hard to continue and eliminate ingredients that we do not stand for or support like seed oils for frying.

A little more work and a lot of sourcing help we have finally eliminated the last 2 ingredients we needed to in order to be top 9 allergen safe “egg” and “soy”

To add to this none of our ingredients are bleached not even our sugar in our lemonade. Our sugar is #vegan and from pure beet sugar and cane sugar.

We also eliminated high fructose corn syrup from our menu as our chef doesn’t believe in it.

We are natural with everything we do. With ingredients you can pronounce and find in your home pantry.

Yes we have a few seasoning still with dairy in them but they are an option not a standard and soon those too will be developed into vegan friendly and top 9 allergen safe as well.

Today we can say that we are the healthiest fast food fried chicken in #america and we are extremely proud to be able to expand our reach and serve so many more people who face these allergies on a daily basis

WE CARE ABOUT YOU

Most celiacs here still haven’t found it.

Here are three dedicated gluten-free kitchens in Portland that many celiacs haven’t discovered yet:

🍩 Mikiko Mochi Donuts (NE 28th and Beaverton): Their FAQ confirms dedicated gluten-free kitchens. August flavors include yuzu funfetti, passionfruit curd, and horchata pudding. Note: The Beaverton location closes Mondays and Tuesdays.

🍗 Your Side Chicks (Nob Hill cart pod): Enjoy fried chicken with dedicated gluten-free fryers, as stated on their site. Wings are a dollar on Wednesdays. Try the corn ribs with local honey.

🍜 Chem Gio (inside Mosaic Taphouse on N Lombard): A 100% gluten-free Vietnamese kitchen run by the former owners of YenHa. The kitchen is dedicated, but the taphouse bar is not, so feel free to order food and ask about drinks.

These guys keep coming back for one reason… the chicken.

We’re talking wings with nothing left on the bone. Tenders that got absolutely demolished. Quotes like:
“Best chicken I’ve ever had.”
“Y’all have no idea what I’m about to do to these wings.”

Safe to say… they know what they’re talking about.

Now it’s your turn to mess around and find out. 🍗🔥 We’ll have you spinning the block for more.

📍Available daily at all 4 locations:
📍NW Portland — @nobhillfoodcarts_pdx
📍NE Portland — @fremontgarage
📍Beaverton — @xplorepdx
📍SE Portland — @brooklyncarreta

🌭🐔 The Glizzy of the Summer has officially arrived… and yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like.

For Daiquiris & Dogs Week at our Brooklyn Carreta location, we created something you won’t find anywhere else:

That’s right—a chicken hot dog that’s breaded, fried to crispy perfection, served on a gluten-free bun, topped with our fresh kale slaw, secret sauce, Nashville dry seasoning, and pickles. It’s crispy, juicy, messy, and an absolute banger.

📍 Available THIS WEEK ONLY at our SE Portland location inside Brooklyn Carreta (Holgate & McLoughlin).
