Yesterday wasn’t just about celebrating another year of your life. It reminded me how far we’ve come.

Back in 2009, two kids from the same hometown in Iraq randomly met inside a Zellers in Canada. Neither of us knew that a chance encounter would turn into a friendship that’s lasted all these years.

Zellers is gone now, but that memory never will be.

You were the first friend from back home that I found in Canada, and through every chapter since, you’ve always been a part of the journey.

I often wake up asking myself if I am doing enough.
And every single time, the answer is no.

But maybe that feeling is not emptiness.
Maybe it is the soul refusing to stay asleep.

As I grow older, I find myself studying human nature more deeply.
Learning what heals people.
What destroys them.
What works for the world, and what only appears to work from far away.

The more I understand people, the more eager I become to learn.
Not just about success, but about meaning.
About connection.
About why some souls leave warmth behind them while others leave noise.

I have realized that growth is not becoming someone else.
It is becoming more honest with yourself.

And perhaps the reason I never feel like I have done enough
is because there is still more life asking to be lived within me. by @yousieoffical
