Kilometer 34 | الكيلومتر 34 🔥

Last Sunday, October 11, 2026, I ran my first marathon in Chicago Marathon . 🏅
الأحد الماضي، ركضتُ أول ماراثون في حياتي في شيكاغو.

The last 7 km were brutal. I remembered the dawn runs, the heat, the days nobody saw me train. I told myself: you built this in silence, so don’t quit now. 💪
آخر 7 كيلومترات كانت قاسية. تذكرت فجر أبوظبي والحر وأيام التدريب بلا شاهد. قلت لنفسي: بنيته بصمت، فلا تتراجع الآن.

I carry my country, and I finished for my son on his birthday. 🇦🇪🎂
أحمل وطني بين أضلعي بفخر وعز ، وأنهيت السباق من أجل ابني في يوم ميلاده.

Today, my RUN ABU DHABI family honored me. Thank you God first, then Captain Yousef, Captain Talib, and my whole team. 🤍
واليوم كرّمني فريقي RUN ABU DHABI. الشكر لله عز وجل أولاً، ثم للكابتن يوسف والكابتن طالب ولكل فريقي وفريقي من 5:30 RUN.

My name now sits beside the UAE in the international results. 🏁❤️

Coach YOUSSEF and Coach TALIB, thank you.

Thank you for every session, every piece of advice, every push when I needed one, and above all, for believing in me and believing that I was ready to take on the world of marathons.

Before this experience, I knew training was hard. But those final 7 km made me understand just how much those months of preparation had given me. It wasn’t only about fitness. It was about patience, commitment, and finding a way forward when things didn’t go as planned.

There was something else on my mind, too.

I was running with the UAE in my heart. 🇦🇪

Being in Chicago and representing my country meant a lot to me. I wanted to cross that finish line, carry the UAE’s name with pride, and become part of the incredible story of the runners who take on this race.

I didn’t finish the way I had imagined. I lost an hour, my race was far from perfect, and the final kilometres tested me in ways I had never experienced before.

But I made it to the finish line, and I will never forget what it took to get there.

Coach Talib and Coach Yousef, I’m grateful you believed in me and helped me reach this starting line.

And to the UAE, it was an honour to represent you in Chicago. 🇦🇪❤️

42.195 km. An unexpected injury. The hardest 7 km of my life. And a finish line I’ll never forget.

Chicago, you gave me a story I’ll carry with me for a long time.

KM 34. That’s where my Chicago Marathon took a turn I never expected.

An injury hit me with just 7 km left. Those last kilometres became the hardest of my life, and it took me a whole extra hour to reach the finish line.

Honestly, there were moments when stopping crossed my mind. My body was tired, the pain was real, and every step became a struggle. But I kept going, thinking about how much it had taken to get there.

The early mornings. The daily training. The tough sessions. The days when I was exhausted but showed up anyway. It all meant something now.

And I couldn’t help thinking about the two people who had been part of this journey from the beginning.

On to the next challenge. 🏅

Kilometer 34. My body said STOP. My heart said GO. 🔥
Chicago, I came for a plan. You gave me a story. 🏙️

Months of training. A plan in my head. Then one moment changed everything, and the road ahead turned into a fight. 💥

I couldn’t run the race I planned. So I ran the one I was given.

Every step hurt. Every step counted. And 55,000 runners, a city on its feet, and thousands of voices carried me all the way to Grant Park. 🙌

I crossed that finish line. ✅

🤍 Thank you, Allah, for this immense blessing. my first official World Marathon Majors race. 🌍
Representing the UAE. 🇦🇪

The journey starts here. 🚀

The strongest finish isn’t the fastest one. It’s the one you refused to give up on.

Plan: 4:15.00 Result: 5:59:05. I'm prouder of this one. 🥹🏅

At kilometer 34 of the Chicago Marathon, I got injured. More than 8 km stood between me and the finish line.

The question changed. It was no longer "what time will I run?" It became "will I finish?"
I did. One step at a time, all the way to Grant Park. 🌍

The winner, Kipruto, ran 2:01:09. I ran 5:59:05. We both crossed the same finish line, in the same city, among 55,000 runners.

Thanks “ALLAH”, my first official World Marathon Majors race. 🇦🇪

Times get forgotten. Never quitting stays with you. 💪

To every runner out there: your plan may fall apart, but your journey doesn't have to.
