It’s essential for young people to have the opportunity to tell their stories, using their own voices and perspectives. Around the world, youth are actively engaging in protests—fighting for gun control, demanding climate action, standing up against corruption, and advocating for human rights. 👊🪧📢 Despite their efforts, they often face political responses ranging from disregard to hostility, while media narratives frequently swing between glorification and criticism, depicting them as either visionary heroes or misguided children. In response, we present youth.direct—a documentary entirely driven by young people, dedicated to capturing and sharing the stories of youth protests worldwide. We would love for you to join us in making this project a reality. 🎥🎬 You’ll find the link to our crowdfunding campaign in our bio. 👆 Also, follow us on TikTok @directyouth 💙 by @youth.direct

Young people are on the streets around the world: fighting for gun control, protesting against corruption, calling out war crimes, demanding sensible climate policies, standing up for universal human rights. Political responses oscillate between belittlement and violence, and media coverage either glorifies or vilifies young people and their demands. Young people are heroes or villains, little children or foresighted adolescents – whatever the story needs. We think it is high time for young people to tell their own stories – in their own words, through their own lens. That’s why we run a crowd-funding campaign to kick-start youth.direct, and would really love your help. Be courageous with us at youth.direct/time 🙏🏼💪🏼 The image shows the logo of youth.direct, which has the words youth.direct growing out of an orange megaphone, with the letter i shaped as a film reel. And it reads: "The stories of young people, by young people. In their own words and through their own lens." by @youth.direct
