"You can dance all night and walk all day" at Burning Man. @yroc great track selection! I wonder how dope it feels to DJ on top of a beautiful flaming work of art... Just standing on top of it while it's throwing flames felt pretty cool so I could only imagine how it feels to stand in the DJ booth @axolotlearthguardian

🔥✨ ¡AXOLOTL! 2025 PROGRAM ANNOUNCEMENT ✨🔥

The Playa is built on collaboration, and so is Axo. This year, we’re bringing not just beats, but co-created magic from across the Burn. We’re dropping a community-powered program

We’re beyond honored to ride with such an incredible crew of collaborators who make Axo more than an art car, they make it a moving playground for all of us.

Stay tuned for highlights of our 2025 co-conspirators 👀💜 and get ready to climb aboard… it’s going to be our biggest, brightest, most participatory year yet. #burningman #axolotlartcar #blackrockcity #10principles #community taken in Black Rock City by @yroc

today we celebrated 25 years of doing our best to be good humans together… happy that I can’t say that the time flew by, because the memories are so full of good times, building a loving home for and with j+j - and our pets and extended fam and chosen fam

hi friends, fam & chosen fam. my dad died early monday morning. i was there, at their home, with my sibs and mom, as he took his last breaths. we were holding him and it was peaceful and magical. before the last quiet moment, i told him again that i loved him, as we did every time.

it’s hard to comprehend that three weeks ago we were all playing games together on his 74th birthday (just after their 54th wedding anniversary in early september), when there was a glimmer of hope that we’d be dealing in years - not months, or weeks, and then suddenly... days.

the united states army, this year, granted him full coverage, because of ptsd. when relaying that along to my kids, julian said - i can’t believe Poppy was living with ptsd the whole time and we never saw it, he never showed it.

fuck cancer, and fuck war.

the night after he died we did a family ceremony - we burned all of his vitals logs, medical records, mailings, fact sheets, some cancer fighting-themed tshirts, whatever we could find, in their back yard fire pit. while those things were burning, we wrote notes to him. we privately wrote about what we wanted to thank him for, and about how we would carry on his legacy. then we quietly burned those notes as we held hands around the fire. next we all called out one word that symbolized what he meant to us, and after that we shared stories around the fire and cried more.

sharing the 2 things i thanked him for:
breaking cycles of generational trauma (with no tools or lingo or instagram therapist memes, just an instinct and his best effort - and it pretty much worked, wow)

showing that vulnerability is strength, that it’s ok for men to have feelings. he always said he “wore his emotions on his sleeve” and it showed me that it’s ok to not be ok, to talk about feelings, to know what empathy is, and that it’s normal to have complex emotions and to share it all with your peeps, both ways.

what i’ll do to carry on his legacy:
do my best to create and share more love in the world

the one word: love by @yroc
