Miraré, a journey toward self-reflection through form.

I’m sharing a closer look at Miraré, my first furniture piece, inspired by the Filipino folktale Alamat ng Ampalaya.

Miraré began as an exploration of envy, insecurity, comparison, and the quiet journey toward looking within.

From early sketches and symbolic forms to wood carvings, material explorations, and eventually a finished piece, I wanted to translate these emotions into a contemporary furniture form while keeping its Filipino roots subtly present throughout the design.

This carousel takes you through the story, meaning, and details behind Miraré.

Hope you enjoy looking a little closer. ◡̈
