🌏🥢 45 YEARS OF CELEBRATING ASIAN CULTURE IN WICHITA, AND I FINALLY MADE IT! ❤️ @wichitaasianassociation

I've always wanted to attend the Wichita Asian Festival, and this year I finally made it! SO MUCH incredible food, culture, and entertainment!

🇮🇳 @madrasmeals_llc Tried their Beef Vindaloo Curry Fried Pie and Chicken Tamarind Rice Croquette! The cilantro sauce was AMAZING! I also learned the fried pie was her mother's recipe. ❤️ That's what I love about food. It's family, tradition, and a connection to where we came from.

🌶️ BLESSED BY THE CULTURE Grabbed a combo with a MASSIVE fried chicken wing, sticky rice, and papaya salad!

One thing I've learned is LAO HOT AND MEXICAN HOT ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS! 🥵😂 Ordered MEDIUM heat and was SWEATING IN PUBLIC! Still delicious tho!

🥭 @leaf.teahouse.ict The mango matcha was SO GOOD! Definitely bringing Lisa back to try their Korean bingsu!

🦞 @noblehousefood got my longtime favorite Lobster Hand Roll! 🤤 I needed that fix!

🍙 GOODIES FOR HOME @lisa.lifestyle.ict couldn't make it, so I brought home Wagyu Beef Onigiri from @gyozabar_wichita and a Fruit Sando from Yuan Yuan, made with homemade shokupan! (milk bread) @yuanyuanict

🎨 MORE THAN JUST FOOD! Pokémon GO battles, interactive artwork celebrating memories of home, and incredible performances, including The Essence of Taekwondo and the Mongolian Chopsticks Dance!

👑 Congratulations to Brandy Subico, Miss Wichita Asian Festival 2026! @missasianfestival

❤️ I loved seeing so many cultures sharing their food, art, and traditions with our community. I'm so glad I finally made it!

💬 What was your favorite food or experience?

Gratitude is the foremost feeling for us after this event. The cosplay contest and ronghua exhibit were two features that would not have been possible without the passion from everyone involved!

A heartfelt thank you to @lanseichina
for gifting our winners a beautiful handcrafted ronghua and a ronghua starter kit.

Thank you to our judges, @badashcos
@lw_photography_ks and
@chiawweai and our emcees, @batgxrl.irl and @i.maydit for ensuring a smooth experience for our audience.

Thanks to @vista_verus_ for providing personal photoshoots to the winners and for taking shots of the contest.

Last but not least, thank you to the contestants for putting work into every aspect of your performances!

We are so grateful to @lanseichina for putting together this deeply thoughtful educational exhibit!
Heritage crafts like ronghua might catch the observant eye as details in wuxia and xianxia works, and we hope our attendees will be inspired to explore more cultural topics.

Some extra smiles captured by us and Mr. John Ellert 😁

POV: they put a camera on you hoping it wouldn't fall into the boiling sugar 🫪

We had an amazing time @oriesgarlicfest this year!! We're so happy to see fellow garlic lovers enjoy our food, and seeing the demand for garlic noodles and garlic tanghulu is AWESOME. Let us know if you have other Asian street foods you would like to see next year <3
