Historical Restoration for the Disgusted & Superiior™
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
English countryside. Minneapolis address. Absolutely insufferable.

The wreath says welcome. The velvet says by appointment. The boxwoods have already judged your shoes.

A little old-world restraint in a world that could use more of it. Stone, ivy, boxwood, and absolutely no interest in being modern.

A small gathering.
Impeccable restraint.
Candles lit with intention, opinions fully formed, exits encouraged by 9.

No caroling. No chaos. Just blue-on-blue, proper glassware, and a tree dressed like it knows better. Conversation stayed sharp, pours stayed disciplined, and no one asked to “move the furniture.”

YUCK™ PRESENTS: WINTER, OBVIOUSLY.

The English cottage in Linden Hills after a snowfall so earnest it borders on performance art. ❄️ Stone politely aging. Chimneys doing the absolute most. Snow piled strategically, as if curated by someone who “doesn’t really do winter” but somehow does it better than everyone else.

No filters. No chaos. Just architectural restraint buried under an irresponsible amount of snow.

We didn’t ask for a fairytale, but it arrived anyway.

Gardens should whisper, not shout. A quiet riot of Astilbe strutted into bloom—clearly unaware that subtlety is the new spectacle. Boxwoods behaving. Topiaries twirling.

Soft Launch. Hard Opinions.

We’ve arrived—quietly, tastefully, and already offended. YUCK is a restoration studio for homes with lineage, flaws, and better things to do than trend. We are not for everyone. In fact, we’re not for most.
But if your entryway sighs with history and your windows weep original glass, we might consider you.

Vogue Press Release

“She Didn’t Just Buy a Farmhouse—She Resurrected It.”

When Baroness Vivienne D’Arcy of Thornfield Grange moved from her storied New York brownstone to South Minneapolis, the world could have mistaken it for a retreat. It was anything but. What Vogue witnessed was not relocation, but ascension: a woman and a house reborn together, under the merciless doctrine of YUCK.

Over the course of 3.5 years and at a cost of $4.5 million—a sum in which a shocking proportion was absorbed by YUCK-related fees, shame surcharges, and lifestyle audits—the Baroness transformed what was once a modest 1,900-square-foot farmhouse into a sprawling 6,500-square-foot estate. The expansion, severe in its geometry and aristocratic in its ambition, was more than architectural; it was existential.

In her own clipped decree, the Baroness declared:
“I need space to thrive. Adorable is weakness. I simply won’t have it. Now, both I and Thornfield Grange are unapproachable—and that is precisely the point, it’s my brand.”

The adorable 1905 farmhouse she first encountered—quaint, endearing, promising—has now emerged as an object of discipline and disdain, limewashed into aristocratic authority.

In the Baroness’s presence, one feels the same precise geometry as her boxwood regiments, the same sharpened authority as the copper-patina chimneys. Her black silk wardrobe mirrors the porch’s hauteur; her curated collection of objets d’art hums with the same severity as the gravel underfoot.

The result is less home than statement piece, less lifestyle than warning flare. South Minneapolis, once innocent in its charm, now has an estate—and a patroness—that refuses to be ignored. taken in South Minneapolis by @yuck_ltd

#luminescence Billed as an immersive homage to history, light, and reverence, the production instead delivered what can only be described as a dimly lit parlor trick—thin projections, timid pacing, and a concept so underdeveloped it bordered on apologetic. This was not illumination; it was a screensaver with aspirations. The technology felt dated, the choreography of light arbitrary, and the narrative—if one insists on calling it that—nonexistent. At moments, it resembled a corporate holiday activation hastily installed in a venue far grander than it deserved.

The great offense is not that Luminescence failed to dazzle. It is that it presumed dazzle could be faked. A basilica of this lineage demands rigor, scholarship, audacity, and a production budget that does not visibly flinch. Anything less reads as disrespect—toward the building, its history, and the audience’s intelligence.

Verdict:
Attend the Basilica. Stand in silence. Contemplate its improbable survival amid civic negligence. Skip the show. taken in Basilica of St. Mary-Catholic by @yuck_ltd
