Most people don’t realise how much their breathing affects their emotional state, stress levels, and nervous system in real time.

In this reel, Andrew Huberman explains a simple technique called the physiological sigh, something the body naturally does to help regulate stress.

The technique is simple:
👉 One deep inhale through the nose
👉 A second shorter inhale
👉 One long slow exhale through the mouth

Simple… but powerful.

This breathing technique helps shift the body out of stress mode and activates the parasympathetic nervous system, the part responsible for rest, recovery, and regulation.

The way you breathe directly affects the way you feel.

And sometimes, small shifts in breathing can create big shifts in emotional state.

Try this the next time you feel:
⏩ overwhelmed
⏩ anxious
⏩ stressed
⏩ emotionally reactive
⏩ feeling restless

If you’d like to explore breathwork deeper and learn how to work with your nervous system more intentionally:

💬 Comment “BREATHWORK” and I’ll send you my upcoming schedule.

“You can talk about your trauma for years…
and still feel stuck.”

This is something Gabor Maté speaks about often,
and it’s something I see again and again in this work.

Because trauma doesn’t just live in the mind.
It lives in the body.
In the nervous system.
In the breath.
In the patterns we carry without realising.

So talking can bring awareness…
but it doesn’t always create change.

The body needs to experience it.

This is where somatic work comes in.

Through breathwork, bodywork, and sound,
we’re not trying to fix or analyse the story,
we’re creating the conditions for the body to feel safe enough to release what it’s been holding.

Not forcing it.
Not pushing for catharsis.

But allowing the system to unwind,
in its own time,
in its own way.

When the body feels supported,
what’s been suppressed — sadness, tension, anxiety —
doesn’t need to stay stuck in loops anymore.

It can move.
It can soften.
It can integrate.

This is where real healing begins —
when the mind and body are no longer working against each other.

If this resonates, come experience it for yourself.

💬 Comment “SOMATICS” and I’ll send you my upcoming schedule.

💾 Save this to come back to.
📲 Share this with someone navigating their healing journey.

Sometimes our tools for calm become tools for avoidance.

We breathe, ground, and meditate, not to meet the emotion, but to force it away.

True nervous system regulation isn't a permanent state of zen. It’s fluidity.

It is building the somatic capacity to move through anger, grief, joy, and fear without abandoning yourself.

But capacity isn't about explosive catharsis either. Screaming once or punching a pillow isn't the answer.
Emotional discharge without somatic integration is just another way to rush through discomfort.

The deeper practice isn’t chasing comfort or a quick release.
It's expanding your capacity to sit with what is.

Want to move beyond basic coping mechanisms and build genuine somatic fluidity?

👇Comment "CAPACITY" below and we’ll send the details of out upcoming somatic course.

3 weeks in Bali somehow went by way too quickly 🇮🇩

Came over for our 7-day Somatic Bodywork Training with @somovacollective in Jasri… and decided to stay a little longer.

Because… it's Bali. 😂

After 7 pretty full-on days of learning, practising, breathwork , movement bodywork and being completely immersed in the training, Amed was a place to be.

Gym. Cold plunge. Sauna. Ocean. Eat. Repeat.

A bit of integration, a bit of reset… and a lot of laptop time in cafés with views that made me question why I work from an office at all. 😂

Blue Earth Village became one of those places where you go for a coffee and somehow you're still there hours later working.

Then finishing off the trip at Canggu and Sanur…

Which was basically the opposite of Amed. 😂

More people. More traffic. Just more lively before landing back in Sydney for the next adventure ✈️

Bali… until next time 🇮🇩

Healing doesn't have to be dramatic.

In a world where we're constantly asked to do more, try harder, and keep going, Sacred Release offers space to leave it all behind the door, slow down, and make space for you to simply receive.

Through gentle somatic awareness, breathwork, sound frequencies, and intuitive bodywork, we create a space where your body feels safe enough to let go and release what's been carrying for way too long.

If this resonates, we invite you to join our Sacred Release Ceremony next Saturday 👇
26th of September
@erthelife Breath Studio, Chatswood
10:30AM - 1:00PM

Last tickets available, link in bio 🌸

Boundaries can set us free.

We often think freedom means having no limits.
But sometimes, a clear boundary creates the safety to explore.

Constraints can create safety.
And safety can create curiosity.

In this movement exploration, there’s only one rule:

Stay within the mat.

No choreography.
No right way to move.
No outcome to reach.

Just a boundary, and the freedom to discover what’s possible within it.

When we have fewer options, we can become more curious about the ones we do have.

We notice familiar patterns.
Find new pathways.
Change direction.
Move differently.

One boundary. Endless possibilities.

Comment "MOVEMENT" to explore our upcoming somatic experiences 🤸‍♂️

Movement is not about finding the perfect shape.

It’s about moving towards more freedom.

Before asking the body to move further, we first learn to listen.

We notice sensation.
We notice breath.
We notice tension, weight, rhythm and impulse.

And as awareness deepens, we begin to find softness, balance, elasticity and ease.

When the body no longer has to be directed through every movement, something else becomes possible:

more responsiveness, more adaptability, more ease.

Not because we forced the body into flow, but because we created the conditions for flow to emerge.
