I finally had the chance to try Kyūdō ( Japanese traditional archery. ) 🏹Ever since moving to Japan, I’ve wanted to experience more of the country’s traditional arts and culture, and today that wish finally came true.Ironically, I was actually in a rush that day (a story I’ll tell in an upcoming episode 😉), but once I stepped onto the range, everything slowed down.By the end, I felt like I understood the essence of it a little better, and I genuinely enjoyed the experience.We live in a world where everything has to be fast. We’re always thinking about what’s next, then the next thing after that. Kyudo is the complete opposite.It forces you to slow down, calm your mind, control your breathing, and focus on a single objective. Every movement has to work in harmony with the others. There’s no room for distractions.It was a great reminder that I still have a lot of work to do when it comes to patience, focus, and being fully present in the moment.A fascinating experience, and definitely not my last time trying kyudo.Thanks to @kayekeikei 🫶🏽@kyudo_japan @chottosisters & @chottomatchajp by @yuki_jess
