More than ever, poetic storytelling captures the essence of humanity through expressing our shared connections and individual experiences. This class will explore poetic storytelling in various multimedia formats such as film, television, text, music and visual art. Enjoyed a meaningful discussion today on the importance of women leading society, the role of ordinary people activated towards education and reading, as well as the need the revive humanity through the poetic spirit ☀️

All of this sparked by the published dialogue between @daisakuikeda.official and Sarah Wider in the form of a book called "The Art of True Relations: Conversations On the Poetic Heart of Human Possibility" ❤️

Excited to share more and connect with everyone at the next "Be the Light" Book Club meeting in April!

Next month we'll be discussing Rick Rubin's "The Creative Act" book (available through local indie bookstore Tombolo Books)🌻 Hope to see you there! by @yukijacksonwriter

Today is my birthday! 🎉🎂 Today I reflect on and celebrate my journey of learning and growth towards creating the self and world that I truly like and even love ❤️🤗🌎 Not without flaws, of course, but nonetheless precious, wonderful and eternally worthy.

May I continue in my unique path of mission, armed with wisdom, courage and compassion. Thank you for another year of life and an opoortunity to try again. by @yukijacksonwriter

Very excited to share that I wrote the foreword for "Our Voices, Our Community" anthology book, which is a collection of works by BIPOC Florida writers and poets ☀️🌴 This beautiful effort is published and organized by @kitchentablelitarts 🌻

Here is their description of the book:

"We called for poems and stories of protest, survival, challenge, and triumph, poems and stories to amplify the voices of BIPOC poets and writers currently living in Florida, the voices of historically resilient and consistently bold communities who refuse to be silenced or ignored.

The artists in this volume answered the call with poems, essays, and stories about life, love, resilience, survival, art, Florida, identity, renewal, redemption, family, friendship, home, nature, community, and joy.

In Our Voices, Our Communities, we invite you to plant yourself in the richness of southern voices with something to say, to open your hearts and (re)imagine everything you thought you knew about survival, hope, and home."

Thank you to everyone who came out and for all who supported by helping to promote 🙏🏽

Our next meeting will be on March 22nd at 4:00pm! The February book pick will be "The Art of True Relations: Conversations on the Poetic Heart of Human Possibility" by Daisaku Ikeda and Sarah Wider. ❤️ (book available through Dialogue Path Press)
