Welcoming 2024 with another Procreate Dreams exploration 😄
.
Trying to combine everything from keyframing + frame by frame in one animation. This took a while to complete because I couldn't decide whether to do fireworks or constellations and finaly settled on the latter.

A Bloom of Jellyfish, that's what a group of jellyfish is called 🪼🌸
.
This is not what I had in mind, but it turns out looking so magical and I'm all for it. And, I'm so happy I figured out how to loop the movements!

Aisle Dance part 1 🍎🍋🥕🥬
.
One of my faavorite places whenever I go somewhere new is to visit their supermarkets. There's just something magnetic about the rows of produce that are only locally available, giving you a bit more insight into the people's everyday lives.
.
Whenever I have some spare time I'm like pacman that wanders through every aisle just to see everything!

#peachtober26 prompts: windmill, sun, crayon (but accidentally made pencils instead hahaa)
.
I didn't have time to animate them each per day so I just put them all together! This took me longer than 30 mins, but mostly I couldn't figure out what to do with the sun but this was another fun one to make 😁

#peachtober26 prompt, flowerbed 🌸🌼
.
Challenged myself again to create a quick frame by frame animation in under 30 mins. Initially wanted to make the flower blooming process a tad bit more intricate, but realized it would take too long so I didn't.

Joining #peachtober26 day 7: bubblee
.
Challenged myself to make a quick hand drawn animation of a duck blowing a bubble but then got carried away~ This one took less than 20 mins to make and I call that a win!

First time trying punch needle embroidery~
.
Thought this was gonna be a relaxing, peaceful craft, but it turned out to be quite a work out 😆
.
Buut the end result is veery satisfying, look at the textuureess!! The white foam texture was inspired by how the back of the beige part looks, so it was basically just inverted 😁

July prompt by @stillustrations.club that I turned into a short animation~
.
There are so many incredible items on the afternoon tea spread here that I had some trouble choosing which elements to include! The concept is definitely a fanfare "tadaaaa~" dessert fountain moment that I made up as I animated hahaa
.
Challenged myself to animate frame by frame in under 3 hours on @procreate and I think I nailed it? 🤓

A hand-drawn animated guide for the square breathing technique ✨️
.
It is a grounding exercise, done in 4 steps: breathe in, hold the breath, breathe it out, and hold the breath again for 4 seconds each.
.
This is a little reminder to myself in times of overwhelming anxiety 😊
.
I used to give in to the bottomless spiral of endless sense of doom and ended up doing... nothing. Too paralized to do anything because the fear is too intense so I procrastinate/cancel plans to not show people my 'weakness'. But as I'm trying to take better care of my mental health, I've been trying to embrace everything that comes with it and learn how to navigate through them.
.
My anxiety is not gone, it's always gonna be there :) But at least now I don't get easily swallowed by the crashing waves as I'm learning to ride it until it gently reaches the shore.
.
To quote the question Mel Robbins asks herself when she feels anxiety rising up: "what if it all works out?"

Venture the Unknown Ep 2
.
My fascination towards the ocean and space will forever remain eternal. There are just so much more to explore in the depth of the ocean and the vastness of the universe, and it's always exciting to wake up with the latest news on new discoveries about them ✨️
.
I recently was blown away after watching a video about a migrating squadron of manta rays. It was hypnotizing to see their wings (?) take turn moving gracefully, illuminated by a soft diffused light coming from the surface, and that inspired me to add them into this piece.
.
This illustration combines all my favorite things into one: the colorful coral reefs of the ocean, the celestial bodies in space, manta rays, and yes, the crab too 😄

Week 2 doodle compilation based on @joshcleland 's June character prompts ✨️
.
As you can see, I only chose prompts with musical instruments to form a band hahaa
.
It's been freeing so far to only give myself at most 15 mins to come up and draw these characters! Will try to complete all the weeks in June 💪

Behind the scenes of "Almost Forest Famous" ✨️
.
I had the most wonderful time creating illustrations for a really fun children's book written by @ajanitruth of @ubuntunaturekids 😊 It's a story about the importance of caring for nature and caring for one another, told in such a playful, humorous way that kids (even adults!) can relate and enjoy.
.
Here, I break down the basic steps I took to complete the illustration process. From concept art that underwent a makeover, how I chose the colors based on color theory, all the way to the finishing details while maintaining communication with the author to make sure everything went according to plan.
