Made a demo version of the Atlas of the Extended Field — a collection of works, texts and technologies on spatial perception where architecture, art and technology meet.
71 entries, for now it’s from an illusory ceiling of 1519 to soft robotics and XR.
The atlas grew out of my two research projects, at MArchI and at HSE Art and Design School, and it keeps growing.

О том, что Лоцман делал во время перехода от Мурманска до Шпицбергена.

За семь суток на борту система произвела корпус записей, каждая из которых собрана из машинного анализа сцены, данных бортового компьютера, ответов художников и спекулятивных индексов. В журнале они ничем не отличаются друг от друга.

On what Lotsman did during the passage from Murmansk to Svalbard.

Over seven days on board, the system produced a body of entries, each assembled from machine analysis of the scene, data from the ship's onboard computer, answers given by the artists, and speculative indices. In the log, none of these is distinguishable from the others.

«Лоцман» — нечеловеческий агент на носу судна, который дважды в день ведёт бортовой журнал. Его восприятие собрано из измеримых параметров среды и спекулятивных показателей, которые нельзя верифицировать. Для системы они равноправны.

Мы не можем проверить, ведёт ли он нас верно.

Lotsman is a non-human agent stationed at the bow of a ship, writing two entries in its own ship's log each day. Its perception is assembled from measurable environmental parameters and speculative indicators that cannot be verified. For the system, both are equal.

We cannot check whether it is leading us correctly.

Apart from being a curatorial facilitator at the @notations.hosq residency, this year I decided to create my own project with the participants.

The main theme of the residency — Rituals — resonates deeply with my own practice of creating spaces for deep, ritual listening. Sama Soundbath, named after the Sufi ritual of sacred listening, is one such space.

Equipped with a very special membrane sound system provided by @swiplan , this room in the National Gallery of Armenia, surrounded by medieval temple frescoes, invited the audience to disconnect, lie down, and be immersed in a 20-minute sound journey created during the residency by its artists: @nikolachenmusic @nasr.sho.injaei @evesceugene @qi_spellsphere @bigudix @kino.pinto and the master @ptichkasoe @gandriesh himself.

In the adjacent room, a whimsical and deceptive installation by @yuliyanemova opened a small window into a parallel dimension.

“This 20 minutes recharged all the energy I spent during the last two festival days,” said one of the guests.

“Cleaning the Dust” — an installation created in collaboration with @yuliyanemova during the Notations Lab, Yerevan, July 2026

A gesture of cleaning becomes a ritual of seeking order in both space and the mind. Dust becomes a metaphor for memory and thoughts — traces that quietly accumulate, shaping our relationship with a place and the way we recognize it over time. Each attempt to remove it creates new patterns of disorder, turning cleaning into an unresolved meditation on control, chaos, clarity, and remembering. by @yuliyanemova

Работа в галерее предполагает прямой взгляд: зритель подходит, останавливается, наводит фокус. «Угол», однако, существует на периферии зрения, допуская как внимание, так и его отсутствие. Работа раскрывается или остается незамеченной именно в динамике, при перемещении по галерее.

Проект исследует невидимую архитектуру, где цифровой слой бесшовно продолжает физическую конструкцию зала. Экраны открывают продолжение комнаты, но её цифровые обитатели существуют в ином режиме видимости: мы воспринимаем их через тени.

Для каждой выставки цифровая среда инсталляции перестраивается как точная реплика физического пространства, перенимая его геометрию, освещение и материалы. Эту среду населяют стандартные фигуры из библиотек архитектурных программ. Обычно их используют лишь для масштаба, но здесь они прокладывают собственные маршруты, отбрасывая тени, которые делят галерею с реальными посетителями.

A gallery piece implies a direct gaze: the viewer approaches, stops, and focuses. «The Corner,» however, inhabits the periphery of vision, allowing for both attention and the lack thereof. It reveals itself or remains entirely unnoticed as the body navigates the space.

The work explores invisible architecture, where a digital layer seamlessly extends the physical structure of the gallery. Screens open into a continuation of the room, yet its digital inhabitants exist in a different mode of visibility: we perceive them solely through their shadows.

For each exhibition, the installation’s digital environment is rebuilt as an exact replica of the physical space, adopting its specific geometry, lighting, and materials. This environment is populated by default figures from architectural software libraries. Typically used merely to provide scale, here they navigate independent routes, casting shadows that share the gallery with physical visitors.

Graphics series, 2025

Pencil drawings are distributed throughout the gallery halls, depicting silhouettes of people within the gallery interior. In these drawings, it becomes indistinguishable whether we are looking at a shadow cast by a real person or their volumetric presence in space, creating visual ambiguity between projection and body.
