More upcoming workshops! Puppet making this weekend, combing paper mache, fabric, and a lot of creativity we will bring our little puppets to life. We also have a paper mache mask workshop next week and Marionettes the week after! There’s so much to learn. Finally, a DIY cyanotype toning class to learn to both make prints and tone them to expand the color grading of the pieces. by @yumebk

we’re excited to announce odds n’ ends, a queer trinket-themed market focusing on small, affordable merch and accessories created by and for queer people. we’ll be holding the event on june 27th! thanks @dirtgirl5000 for the poster :)thank you to all of our applicants!! we’re so excited that so many wonderful artists want to be part of our market! submissions have now closed and we’re taking time to review each of your applications. there will be around 20 artists in our lineup, and we’ll be letting artists know about acceptances soon! by @yumebk

UPDATE: YUME’S NEW LOCATION - 659 ROGERS AVEHi friends!Almost 5 months ago, we opened Yume with the mission of supporting local artists and fostering a culture of creativity and connection in our neighborhood. Since then, we’ve hosted a whirlwind of events, from various workshops to art markets to live music, and had the pleasure of working with talented creatives all over Brooklyn. Our latest event, Yurimart, drew a line that went around the block and packed the space unlike any event we had hosted before! We truly couldn’t be more grateful for all the community support and love we’ve received over the last few months. We have some updates about the future of Yume. Our current storefront, located at 671 Flatbush Ave, was a temporary space that our tiny team renovated from scratch in exchange for a lease that expires this month. We always knew we wanted to use the opportunity to support our local creatives and create a community that would last even if we didn’t have a storefront, which was something we had to prepare for.But guys… we have some exciting news to share. With Yume’s continuously increasing success and the hard work from our team, we were able to secure another storefront only a few blocks away at 659 Rogers Avenue! We are beyond thrilled to be able to take Yume to a more permanent location and develop our new space. We owe so much of this to everyone who has supported us since our opening, from the artists who trust us with their work to the loyal customers who show up for our events to our curious neighbors who just want to peek in. All that will continue to happen, just a few blocks away.It’s been nothing short of magical to watch Yume go from a distant dream to a third space that is not only surviving, but thriving and expanding.Stay up to date on our socials and website, and please let us know if you have any questions in the meantime.
