Yum Long is focuses on fresh, made-to-order dumplings served one basket at a time! I absolutely loved their xiao long bao so much🥰 Especially the Black Truffle Pork and Crab & Pork— both were incredibly flavorful!! The calamari is also a must-try. So good. For veggies, I highly recommend the Dry Pot Cabbage. It’s cooked with a little pork, garlic, and chili peppers, and the flavor combination was absolutely perfect — sooo addicting. Even the dessert xiao long bao were delicious and super unique too! You can also order chocolate strawberry, chocolate mochi, matcha mochi with white chocolate, salted egg custard, and taro. These are steamed dessert dumplings with sweet fillings instead of savory soup! 😍 Can’t decide? There’s a six-piece dessert xiao long bao sampler with assorted flavors so you can try a few. 🥢 This Chinese restaurant in Monterey Park takes inspiration from China’s Jiangnan region, and its chefs bring experience from different Chinese cooking traditions. Freshly made dumplings are a focus, with a full savory menu to enjoy before dessert. Back for round two at Yum Long Dim Sum in Monterey Park because I couldn’t stop thinking about that emotional support dumpling plushie at the door. Every item here is hand-folded fresh right on Garfield Ave, and you can taste the difference in the skin texture compared to standard spots. We stocked up on soup dumplings including their signature pork XLB, wasabi pork for a bit of kick, and rich wagyu beef. Added in classic thin-skinned shrimp and pork siu mai, sweet corn dumplings, fluffy BBQ pork buns, pan-fried dumplings, Dan Dan noodles, tender braised pork belly, and chili oil wontons.
