A CITY SET ON A HILL CANNOT BE HID

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

happy @hyperspiritual release day and @bandcamp Friday!

my new album Hyperspiritual is out now and streaming on all platforms via @mannekenrecords!

pre-order the vinyl copy on Bandcamp before midnight so that 100% of proceeds go to the fundraiser!

There are links in my story and bio for everything!

Let me know what you think of the album in the comments!

All the songs on Hyperspiritual are interconnected and meant to be listened to in a single sitting.

That’s why I wanted to release them as a joint body of work instead of individually, though I also believe they each stand on their own as individual masterpieces.

I hope this album brings you healing and strength in this difficult time in history.

with love,

my new single A Way Out is out today and available on all digital platforms via @mannekenrecords

Visit my website to listen to it and find links to your music listening platform of choice

I feel a sense of serenity with this song finally being out, but know deep down that the work is only beginning

Thank you if you’ve been with me until now

The sound on A Way Out is a bit of a departure from the one you’ve known me to display, but it’s a direction I feel 100% confident in

If you thought you knew me, maybe you didn’t fully know me, and I hope you will learn to embrace this new facet of my music just as we adapt to new information to inform our opinions and worldview

Thank you

The Question, out now on all digital platforms via @mannekenrecords. Enjoy.

For those of you wondering, the cover art is a thought form, one of many that inspired Wassily Kandinsky during his artistic career. This one is meant to depict a vague feeling of affection. It was painted by John Varley Jr. pink cloud with a black background by @yusnotyus

happy to share that the @hyperspiritual vinyl pressings have arrived at the @mannekenrecords headquarters

I ordered these in February, and they finally arrived about two weeks ago

Only 100 copies were pressed because of low demand during the fundraiser I set up in 2024

All outstanding orders have been shipped

I’ve decided these will go live on my @bandcamp on the next #bandcampfriday which is coming up on September 4th

$30 + shipping (only $5 for USA), ~90 copies remaining

price goes up to $40 when stock drops to 50

get reminded automatically or follow me on bandcamp to get an email notification when they go live at midnight on 9/4

that’s all, thank you 😎

would you go for it?

would you accept my vision for us?

would you accept my apology?

would you stay with me?

I don’t know

I won’t know

until I ask

until I let my thoughts and feelings be known..

it’s scary to try to save a relationship, but sometimes it gets kinda dark and it requires a bit of honesty and a bit of courage to bring it to the table

it’s not always peaches and cream, and that’s normal

it’s there if you wish to save it

I hope you are able to rise to the occasion should your relationship ever be subjected to the fires of life

I hope you’ve enjoyed this lyric video series featuring songs from my latest album @hyperspiritual

peace ✌🏽 and smoke rings 💨

moral of the story: don’t be late ⏰

also, no mistakes allowed 🙅🏻‍♀️🙅🏽‍♂️

nah but, the beat for this song was originally put together for a coworker who asked me to produce a beat they could rap over

the collab never came to fruition so I decided to put together some lyrics for it

I added the bass line change when I got a real bass guitar circa 2018 which I think brought the song to life

a lot of my lyrics are self critique

I’m really hard on myself sometimes, or at least I used to be

however this turned into something a lover could say to their partner and I kinda liked it

in all seriousness, I do hope we can all do better in our relationships and not only show up on time, but also show grace when tempers flare

alright, have a nice weekend ✌🏽

Could it be???

opening lyrics to “Better Frens” off my latest album @hyperspiritual

have you ever asked yourself these questions or is it just me?

relationship anxiety is real if you ask me, and I think these fears and questions are valid

if you can’t ask questions, or test the relationship, then of what value is the relationship? maybe it would be better as a friendship

and if it’s not, then let the love be clearly expressed and fears addressed

let the relationship be renewed through the firestorm of anxiety

for all my hopeless romantics out there…

“because I know now what you become when you feel it and you don’t take time to enjoy while it happens and you’re left to grieve on mistakes that at the time felt oh so right”

off of “WAYWYN?” track 4 on @hyperspiritual

the chorus on this song is not a very traditional YUS chorus, but it came out so I wasn’t gonna stop it

it speaks to the feeling of doing things without thinking too much about them, following your heart, or your gut, whatever you wanna call it, and the ephemeral nature of the feelings that prompt one to act, leaving one to have remorse/regret for the actions we took in the heat of the moment, but really, when you’re honest with yourself, the decisions you made felt so right at the time..

happy Valentine’s if you’re celebrating

give whoever it is an extra big kiss for me while you still can

“Give me some time
To show you what I’ve got
The way you’re painting me
That’s everything I’m not
And you know it
And you know it
And you know it”
