I am excited to announce that I’ll be back with Toronto Blue Jays for the 2026 season as a bilingual player interpreter!

I want to thank the LA Angels organization for letting me pursue this opportunity. They were nothing but first class throughout this process. I’ll miss all of the amazing players, coaches, front office and staff I got to work with over there.

I am super pumped to be back home and work for my hometown team once again. Looking forward to working with some familiar faces as well as new ones. The show goes on and can’t wait to get started with the 2026 season!

Also, shoutout to @alykhankr and the Blue Jays social team for creating this graphic for me! 😂

Personal News: Starting today, I will be temporarily taking a break from teaching and coaching to pursue a dream job of mine. I have been hired by the Toronto Blue Jays to be Yusei Kikuchi’s Japanese translator!
This opportunity came out of nowhere almost 2 weeks ago and after countless number of interviews and meetings with various people in the Jays organization, I was officially offered the position a few days ago. I still haven’t been able to wrap my head around this. I have continued to ask myself if this is real life. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity I just could not pass up. Shoutout to @kyle_fillier and @chohyung for making this possible!
To be able to work with a team that I grew up rooting for is a dream come true. And now I get to also work closely with a player I’ve been watching since his high school days in Japan! I want to say a huge thank you to all of those who have been so supportive throughout this process. You know who you are! I will miss being able to teach and coach which has been the norm for me the last few years. I will miss my @uoftbaseball, @torontomets , @eastyorksr, Thornhill Astros, and Wismer PS family dearly.
With that said, I am so excited to get things started today! I will do whatever it takes to help Yusei be at his best. It’s a big year for him and the Blue Jays! If you’re ever coming to the Rogers Centre to watch a Jays game, please don’t hesitate to come over and say hi!

Year 3 in the books! ✅ ⚾️
3rd team in 3 years; this season with the LA Angels. It was my first time living outside of Canada on my own. Life off the field was amazing! 🌴 🌊 🏌️‍♂️ 😎
Life on the field…well…not the kind of season we wanted, but it was a valuable learning experience. I got to meet and work with some amazing coaches, players, and staff. I also got to experience the All Star Game for the first time. These are memories I will cherish forever and will never take them for granted.
The journey continues and I’m already looking forward to 2026!

2024 ✌️

This year was full of adventures! Aside from all the road trips, I spent a lot of time in Dunedin, Toronto, Houston, Japan, and Arizona with some of my favourite people. Next year, I’ll be calling LA my new home. Many more adventures to come in 2025 and I cannot wait!

Happy New Year! 良いお年を！ by @yusukesean

Yusei Kikuchi’s KOH (King of the Hill) baseball facility is finally complete! It is based in his hometown of Iwate, Japan. This facility has a weight room, recovery room with a hot and cold tub and sauna, a cafeteria, and a courtyard. The field area is equipped with the latest technology that kids in Japan are not privy to, like the Hack Attack pitching machine, Trackman, motion capture system and force plate. I was amazed when I first saw this facility. I have never seen anything like it! The kids are fortunate to be able to workout at a facility like this!

先月、菊池雄星さんがプロデュースしたKOHの施設のオープニングが行われました！そして先日、KOHのスクールも開始しました！おめでとう御座います！ @yuseik18 @koh_iwate taken in 岩手県花巻市 by @yusukesean

Year 2 in the books! What a whirlwind of a season - a year that started with the Toronto Blue Jays and ended with the Houston Astros. I was grateful to be part of 2 amazing organizations and be able to work with so many great players, coaches and staff. Time to enjoy the offseason a little bit. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for the 2025 season!

💪⚾️ by @yusukesean

Houston! It’s been real! Didn’t think our season would end this quick, but that’s baseball.
Gonna miss this place and all the players, coaches and staff. Everyone was so welcoming since Day 1. Was blessed to be a part of the Astros organization! taken in Daikin Park by @yusukesean

Although the season didn’t end the way we wanted to, working for Yusei and the Blue Jays this season has truly been a blessing. Thank you to everyone who supported me along the way as I was learning a job that was completely new to me. It has been an experience I’ll never forget and take for granted. I had a lot of fun interacting and working with different people within this organization. Thank you to the team for allowing me to be part of this special group!

From North York Blues ➡️ MLB All Star!
Had the pleasure of playing Junior ball with Romano almost 10 years ago before he got drafted and boy he’s come a long way! But what makes him such a cool dude is he never forgets where he came from. Had a great time catching up with him and reminiscing the good old days. Shoutout to @the_pan_man for running a great camp once again! taken in Toronto Mets Baseball Club by @yusukesean
