transparently, adulting is not for the weak lolll. Growing up, I had this stark image of what young adulthood would look like. I eagerly watched films/ videos that showcased doting protagonists miraculously transformed into upstanding performers. Uniquely enough, my process of growing has been a continuous act of returning back to my self: learning to “thrive” in an art that I now call “just being” while training to occupy spaces that require perfection, acknowledging old wounds without placing blame, and celebrating youthful joys once stifled. As my first year of college ticks away🥹, I can’t help but reflect on moments i’ve experienced (thank you God I had mad fun tewww😛), the beautiful souls i’ve met & the knowledge i’ve acquired. I am thankful that growth is not linear, but is continuous, wild & unpredictable.

one thing I’m learning, it’s that we should not try to polish ourselves into versions we think will be accepted or we think we must become. Erase concepts of a timeline you think you must abide by. There is beauty in using this time to develop what makes us uniquely us—and letting others experience the beauty of how God decided to craft you & I since the beginning .
