My dream is to run a full marathon in the United States, which I included in my statement when I applied for Miami University. Running marathon taught me three things:

(I) Alive
(II) Flexibility
(III) Enjoy the growth and process

I love running because I enjoy the pain, which makes me feel alive. I get to know myself better every time I go through the pain. Training for a marathon requires long-term commitment and patience more than my studies.

This semester, I have to be flexible with my work, class, and training schedule. Fall 2021 is my first semester enrolled in MaCC, lots of unknown. I spent most of my weekends running my long run on the treadmill and getting adequate sleep after a hell that my body went through.

I cried, sobbed, like inexplicably teary a million times when I trained or even ran the Chicago Marathon. The pain, the struggles, the challenges, and the fear of failure are real. Conversely, I keep pushing, pushing, and sometimes I have no idea why I made this insane decision.

Running a marathon can seem daunting, but it never deters me. I feel extraordinary, powerful, strong and it cannot be explained when months of work come to fruition. When I finally realized my dream by crossing that finish line, I felt pure, indescribable excitement that hasn't felt in so long. Smile, you did it.

Thank you for all the spectators cheering with the signs that were yelling for me as I came by right. I remember one of the signs clearly that stated, if you think running it's hard, try crawling. It lifts me, I understand my parents are not here, but I know I am not alone.

Thank you Chicago Marathon 2021 it's my pleasure to run! by @z.kinaaaa

👊 personal record | NYC Marathon 2022 | 06 November 2022 by @z.kinaaaa

So yeah, I ran a 5K and then a half marathon the very next day, totally untrained, in terrible weather, and with period cramps like an extra layer of punishment. Legs cramped, mood swung from rage to tears but I finished because quitting was NOT on the menu. Also, shaved 5 minutes and 20 seconds off my course PB!!! Shoutout to Collton for the foot rub and for taking videos for me. 🙌🏃‍♀️🔥🩸😂

I don’t run fast, but I do run fabulously 😜 Only ran this 5K to chase my friend’s butt. She is fast 🔥🤩🤩

✨ I just completed my first CrossFit competition, and I’m absolutely thrilled to check this major goal off my list for 2024! 🎯 Walking in with no CrossFit basics was definitely intimidating, but I even learned how to do “thrusters” on the spot during the competition! 💪🔥

A massive thank you to my amazing partner for pushing me out of my comfort zone! 🙌 Asking you to join me over text was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. We may have met at the gym, but we absolutely crushed it together today and even snagged second place! 🥈🤝💥

This journey has been about so much more than just the competition; it’s about pushing our limits, embracing growth, and celebrating every small victory. 🎉 I couldn’t have asked for a better teammate to share this experience with. The sweat was pouring, but so were the smiles, making every moment even more exhilarating! 😅🌟 Here’s to many more challenges and adventures ahead! 🚀💖 by @z.kinaaaa

Flying 🏃‍♀️ 🦋💓🛳️

I’m so excited for the chance to win a ticket to the 5KM Garmin Run Asia Series 2024 in Malaysia! After five long years away, I’m finally coming home, Malaysia. Running has not only filled my life with joy but has also connected me with incredible support groups and a thriving community. Through each mile, I’ve discovered the power of positivity and the importance of sharing that joy with others. I want to inspire fellow runners to embrace their journey, uplift one another, and celebrate the happiness that running can bring. Let’s run together and spread the love! 💕

This weekend, mid may 😙

1. My first photo at the starting line. I didn’t carry a phone at all during the race course. Thanks to @colltond for taking this photo.
2. My first 5k medal 🏅 in the States.
3. It’s our first 5k together, and Collton’s first-ever 5k. 🏃
4. Can’t wait to start the race soon. 🥳🤩
5. Oh no, the race was delayed for three hours because of a thunderstorm. ⛈️
6. Mad 😠 😡 now we have to find shelter.
7. Skin is glowing ✨ with all the pouring rain. 🌧️
8. Survived with a sprained ankle.
9. Glad to be back in town again. I love Cincinnati.
10. Finished in 32.16 with the sprained ankle. Not bad, and I will be back and stronger.

Overall, I love the Flying Pig 5k, but the number of participants is crazy. I was in a good pace until a random kid suddenly stopped in front of me, and the lady in front of me had to suddenly stop. It made me have to brake, and I was kinda mad and lost my mind for a sec. It kinda triggered my ankle, and I had to walk for about 5 mins. I prefer long-distance races; at least they’re not that crowded haha 😆 by @z.kinaaaa

I’m a pacer now 🪧🏃‍♀️‼️

Paced someone to archive their PB, that feelings are indescribable. At the same time, I noticed that damnn, I am stronger 💪 than I thought, I have never stopped a single moment for 13.1 miles. Also, I actually can run 10 miles without music 🎶 🎼 by @z.kinaaaa

Major marathon - Chicago stop ⭐️

I was planning to go for 6 hours because of inconsistent training (aka no training) but put myself ahead for 5:45.

At the end, I crushed my own 2021 Chicago PB by 6 mins, finishing strong for 05:03:09.

Proud to say I crushed my own Chicago PB but could have done better with the consistent training.

Please do have a consistent marathon training plan before you put your body in danger and torture 😉

Crowd in Chicago is definitely no joke 💯 thank you for cheering me up and thanks for the volunteers who handed me water, gels and gatorade. ❤️

And for the record - yes I cried after crossing the finish line. 🏁 I made it and one more finisher medal in my pocket 🥳🎉
