FINDINGS – Artist Spotlight: Isaac Zavale

We are honoured to present Isaac as one of five voices in our upcoming exhibition at 4th4Lo Ap-Artment.

Title: Njunju Mabebe
Edition of 5,5 color linocut on paper
57cm x 50cm

This series of four multicolored linocut prints is a study of the barbershop portrait signwriting style.

He was exploring the idea of creating a single linocut block that could be printed multiple times in different colors, layering the inks in one printing process. Each character in the series is titled using Johannesburg slang, adding a local South African voice and attitude to the work. The series combines visual traditions of hand-painted signage with the expressive language of Joburg street culture.

We can’t wait for you to see his work and the discoveries of all five artists at FINDINGS.

A New Chapter: A Space for Artists to Shine
We’re super excited to announce the launch of our newest ART platform.

We truly believe creatives should be here to support one another. That’s why we started looking for ways to use our platform to shine a spotlight on artists we genuinely love and admire.
