Sammy Sosa (V7) - When I started taking my training seriously again last summer, a goal of mine was to send an outdoor V7 within a year. After spending this season working a variety of boulders to build my outdoor base, I set sights on this one to test my limits. Spent the first session figuring out my beta and linking moves which setup the send on the first bottom rip in my 2nd session.

Besides the shallow rocky dabfest in the bottom traverse, this climbs quite nicely, especially for a smaller box. Much to my strength, its mostly a sustained crimpfest on rounded half pad incuts with a topout sloped features and a precise heel hook.

Took advantage of a free weekend to head up to @dynoclimb for the first time and participate in their #sendmas bouldering comp! It turned out to be such a fun event and the problems were top notch!

Found my groove about 45 minutes in and worked my hardest the rest of the comp, but unfortunately I didn't place in my category. More gainz are to be had and I'm already looking forward to Sendmas next year!

Shot up to Blood & Fire this weekend to start refamiliarizing myself with the boulder. I first check it out in February and did a few moves, but hadnt gotten on it since. The temps were warm, but the goal was to dial in some foot beta and figure out how to kneebar for the crux move. Still have a few things to learn on this one, but I am excited to seige this boulder as the temps start dropping.

The winter/spring of this year was the first time I spent any significant time on rock. I focused a lot on boulders I could get in a session or two to start building my experience up. Aside from the learning curve of climbing on rock vs plastic, I learned patience with projecting and my process for it. This boulder will put all of that to the test and, if im lucky, I can put it all together for my first double digit boulder.

Temps are starting to show up, so its time to start puttin time in on some real rock! Put a good session in on this one; figured out all the beta and made big links. Just need to put it all together from the start now.

Got the chance to sneak out to Sailing Hawks in Durango, Co to work on this area classic. I figured out some new beta, was able to do every move in iso and make some good links, but couldn't quite put it all together this time. Unfortunately I wont be able to get another session in on it this trip, but can't wait to revisit it later!

This sucker has nearly 20 hand moves on it.. by time i found good beta for the first 12ish, I had lost all power to make it to the headwall section.

My steep/roof climbing has insanely improved this season. @matt_fultz at @otgstrength has been putting me through the wringer with this style this summer! I have a few boulders lined up for this season that'll give a good indicator on all the gainz 💪💪

This summer has been a lot of inconsitency, hot sessions and lots of training, so the sends have been scarce. Was fun to try hard and figure this one out.

Tried this one a few months ago and got pummeled by it. This time it went in just a couple go's. Super stoked to see improvements across a season based around projecting. Let's see what some more focused training can yield!
