Over the past month my creative partner @nathanielchaves and I have been working on retrofitting a historic military battery from a delapatated site into an artistically led community space with an open gallery and organization of the space. Hidtorically used as an artillery placement and site for fire drills it is now used as an informal community space.

The goal was to clean the space and fill it with art installations from artist on and off island. Part of shaping the experience was in guiding people towards the installations and other gathering spots. These are the 3

We intentionally left the spaces porous as to continue the sense of exploration and never say no to someone’s curiosity. Each is a different way of accomplishing the general experience using found materials and relating to the islands culture, history and common objects.

A beautiful part of an exciting project set to open June 15th. All love for the island and people who supported.
