It’s hard to put moments like these into words, but what I am in the midst of are the most joyful kids, an incredibly empathetic medical team to serve alongside, and many many new friends that will join us in heaven. Camp Life weeks 1-4 have my heart!

A palliative care facility and hospital called Living Room sounds ironic. If irony is when there’s a contrast between expectation and reality, then what happens here isn’t ironic.

People in the thick of illness or under pain management in end-of-life care at Living Room International are being given doses of life. This village, known to be the City of Champions (for producing the fastest runners in the world), champions the people God entrusts them until the very end.

I saw every stage of life this trip from 1 day old twins to 1 day after deceasing. In each interaction, I was in awe of the way Living Room lives out Micah 6 in how they act justly, love mercy and walk humbly. I’m leaving Eldoret today grateful and inspired.

Excited to announce that I will be starting medical school this fall at the Uniformed Services University and commissioning into the Navy!⚓️

Storytime about God’s perfectly unconventional yet perfect timing:

As of Wednesday morning, I was planning on moving to Iowa for medical school in late July. Before I left, I planned a solo 3-week trip to Kenya (where I am right now) to work with @livingroominternational and learn more about medicine and missions overseas.

After 4 flights and a drive to get to Eldoret, Kenya (a 40-hour journey!), I was received by the Living Room team with the utmost hospitality and honor! They sang, gifted me flowers, cut the ribbon at the entrance, and we planted a tree that will bear fruit for the future guests upon my departure. Beautiful!

I went back to my guestroom and took a nap to catch up on post-travel sleep. When I woke up, my life changed.

I received an email from the Uniformed Services University School of Medicine (USU) with an offer of acceptance!!! This was my dream school and opportunity that has been prayed about for the last 2+ years (like seriously prayed over consistently).

On my limited wifi from this rural town in Kenya late at night, I called my family, and we celebrated in tears. A moment that I’ll remember forever! Now I’m departing from Kenya a week early because I report for duty and commission at the start of June!

Bottom line: God answers prayers. He listens and gives us the desires of our hearts when it is in His will.
Never would I have thought that I would apply to this school while in Zambia and get accepted while in Kenya.
If I had known sooner about my early departure, maybe I wouldn’t have gone to Kenya right now. Either way, God knew what He was up to!

People always ask what it was like growing up as triplets, so here’s our answer! 📽️

Celebrating today 23 years of growing up with two people who know you better than anyone else! The childhood memories, the awkward stages, the milestones, the laughter, the tears … all of it.
It’s a unique upbringing, but we wouldn’t trade it for the world!
thankful for my built-in bffs & other thirds!
