Life Hack - if life doesn’t give you a sister, go find her. Be a menace, be a nuisance, and in return find yourself so, so, lucky to be loved and known.

Make up stupid songs together, have long rambling jokes, have aggressive side conversations in meetings, make art you could have only dreamed of making, say “can I say something terrible” and have her predict what you’ll say.

To know ya and love ya, @kt_bergs , is to be so much more than fortunate. Happy ding dang mother-flippin birthday, here’s to an infinite supply of more. Cannot express how lucky I am we found each other. by @zachstolz

What a meaningful evening at @woodstockarts for Spring Awakening! A heartfelt thank-you to Zach for reaching out, inviting us, treating us to coffee, showing us around, providing influencer tickets, and making @robogeeek feel so genuinely welcome.

We are incredibly excited to continue collaborating with Zach and supporting the important work he is doing at Woodstock Arts!

Set in late-19th-century Germany, Spring Awakening follows a group of adolescents attempting to understand identity, intimacy, and adulthood within a society that refuses to speak honestly about the very subjects consuming them. Set against a powerful rock score, the musical examines the painful consequences of repression, misinformation, and adults’ unwillingness to truly listen to young people.

A tremendous shoutout to this remarkable cast for approaching such emotionally demanding material with courage, vulnerability, and extraordinary care.

Spring Awakening asks its performers to inhabit experiences of confusion, desire, shame, grief, and rebellion while preserving the humanity of each character- and this company met that responsibility beautifully. Their work reminded us why this musical remains so urgent: silence does not protect young people; knowledge, compassion, and honest conversation do.

Bravo to everyone involved in bringing this challenging and deeply affecting story to the stage! 🎭

How to describe the gift of time? A belated moment of breathe and gratitude for the Hollins Playwright’s Lab in Roanoke, VA for having me and some beautiful hooligans come and work on my dear friend @claire.f.martin ‘s 2Cities. Camaraderie, art, food, friends, nature, and time, three weeks that felt like nothing but skipping time. by @zachstolz

“Intention plus repetition”

July had a lot of things happen, a month of minor miracles to last a lifetime. One of the many was a chance to get this piece by @good_will_hugging done by the man himself! I bought this print of his painting about three years ago. Something about it stopped me in time and immediately choked me up. If you know a little, or a lot, about my life it doesn’t take long to figure out why. Discovering that the artist is also a tattoo artist? Bucket list of the “oh maybe someday”

A quick road trip within a road trip with three beautiful folks and hey, we made real a maybe someday.

My little sister got married!!!

@lboydw, it has been the gift of a lifetime to be your friend, to be with you throughout so many stages of life and to watch you grow, to challenge you and be challenged by you, to bounce between conversations at the peak of stupidity and at the peak of pursuit of art. You are my favorite collaborator, my favorite actor, and one of the greatest friends I could have ever hoped to have. Loyal to a fault, kind intentionally, caring, stubborn, brilliant, maddeningly stupid as well.

I am so proud of you and @caleb_brening_21, and the way that you two have grown together, with each other and for each other? I cannot help but smile tremendously knowing that you have each other, and that you are safe and sound in each others hearts.

I won’t take all the credit of y’all happening because of me and a silly little show back in 2019, but I’ll take *some*.

How about a World Premiere play? Several months ago my dear friend @claire.f.martin said she had a script she’d like for me to read with her, and if you don’t know yet, let me tell you now that when Claire F. Martin comes to you with an idea, jump-in feet first and ask questions later. And with @caty.berg, the theatrical mind I admire maybe more than anyone else’s that I’ve known, at the helm as the director? Forget it. I’m there. I’m sold. I’m done. I am seldom happier.

Thank you, and Happy Opening(!) to these two remarkable artists, for reaching out and bringing along on the journey, for the opportunity to play a role that feels like the perfect jacket, for challenging me, for being patient, and for being two of the most sincere and invigorating collaborators one could have.

EVELINA as at the Shakespeare Tavern tonight, and Saturday, and hopefully coming elsewhere around ATL this spring and fall. Join us, won’t you pals?
