What a party! Had a blast playing @scarefestweekend with @coreytaylor, @toddkerns, @dustinofjericho & @paultrudeau_band. Home now, but off to LA tomorrow to rehearse with The Wonderland Band, back home to Vegas, then back in LA to play with WB In Hollywood then back to Vegas for @bruce.kulick rehearsals with Todd and @brentfitz for @kisskruisevegas November 13-15. No rest for the wicked. Happy Halloween everybody!

Must be the season of the witch. October’s been a super busy month for me. I got to record vocals and guitars for the new album by my soul sister @pearlcaliforniacountry at the legendary @unitedrecording studios in LA. Working in the @lespaulofficial room with Les’s original mixing board was kind of mindblowing (not to mention walking around Sinatra’s room). Loved working with producer @paul_strangeboy_stacey as well. Shot back to Vegas for a surprise @coreytaylor show at the @fremontcountryclublv with @toddkerns, @dustinofjericho & @paultrudeau_band playing fun covers. Next day, hopped on a plane to Park City, Utah and played a couple of sets of songs for my friends at @monsterenergy. Now, I’m heading to Kentucky for one more Corey show at @scarefestweekend and after that, I head back to Vegas and jump right into rehearsals with Todd, @brentfitz & @bruce.kulick for @kisskruisevegas November 13-15 at the Virgin Hotel. I’m grateful for every drop of it. Hope to see you all soon!! 📸: 5, 8 & 9: @danvirchow. 11, 12: @larixphoto by @zachthrone

Six years ago today, we lost Edward Van Halen. Ed was the Bruce Lee of rock guitar. There wasn’t one before him and there will never be another one again. Over the years, I would figure out EVH solos just for fun and immediately fall back in love with guitar again. I always aim to get them note for note, but you find out quick that you can get close, but you will never get “there”. Nobody had his swing, his rhythms, his funk……the complete package of magic. Thanks Ed for continuing to inspire. R.I.P. GOAT.

R.I.P Sass Jordan. What a shock. Such a great voice and spirit. Played a couple of festivals with her in Canada. All my condolences to Derek and her family and friends. 😢

50 years ago today, “All The World’s A Stage” by Rush was released. This was my first Rush album and IMO is one of the best live albums of all time, up there with “Ramones: It’s Alive”, “Thin Lizzy: Live And Dangerous”, “Kiss: Alive”, “James Brown: Live At The Forum”, “Motorhead: No Sleep ’Til Hammersmith”, “The Who: Live At Leeds”…etc. Just ferocious. I played it so much, my tape kept breaking. I bought it 3 times until I figured out that I should just get it on vinyl.

One of my favorite rock n roll moments ever happens on this album but it has nothing to do with Rush.

Mike Myers’s brother, Paul Myers, was a teenager at the time and in a local Toronto band called “Nighthawk”. He knew that Rush was recording a live record at Massey Hall that night and he figured he would give his band some free publicity and immortality. He strategically timed screaming his band’s name during the start and stop sections in “Bastille Day” so that his voice would be captured on the final master tape.

And it was.

During a live Canadian telethon in 2005, Mike Myers confirmed that at exactly the 4:01 mark of the live version of “Bastille Day” on All the World’s a Stage, the voice was his brother Paul screaming out, “Nighthawk”, his band’s name.

Fn legend.

Vegas, get ready! Tickets on sale at the link in my bio. by @zachthrone

Had a blast playing a whole lotta rock with the Wonderland Band at the @mulholland_tennis_club for a very worthy cause. The band that night was myself, Dave Kushner, Stephen Perkins, Scrote & Daniel Shulman. Guest singers were Juliette Lewis, Jesse Hughes, Donovan Leitch, Bijou Phillips and Franky Perez. Both band and singers absolutely crushed it. Thanks Dono for asking me to be a part of it. (Note: I mayyyyy have added A.I. to a couple of these photos or this might be exactly how it happened. I can’t remember…)

Three years ago today, “CMF2” the follow up to “CMFT” by @coreytaylor was released. We had super sized, re-dicks amount of fun making this record and even stupider amounts of fun touring behind it. The single, “Beyond” reached Number 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart for the week of September 23, 2023 which was our second number one after “Black Eyes Blue”. It was a really cool time.

25 years ago today, The Jackson 5 performed together for the very last time at Madison Square Garden in NYC. 10 hours later, 9/11 happened.
