Beyond grateful to have completed my thesis show "Been Surfing My Whole Life"

The exhibition grew from a sound recording on the Los Angeles Metro and evolved into a sculptural sound installation surrounded by paintings. By using waves & particularly the Great White Shark as a metaphor for the real forces we navigate in life, outside of projected fears.

"Been Surfing My Whole Life" is an attempt to form an expression under conditions of resistance and vulnerability to anticipate, move through and acknowledge the waves of life, not despite fear, but in awareness of their construction. 🌊🌊🦈 taken in Akademie der Bildenden Künste München by @zaferforever

Hey everyone!!
My name is Zafer & I’m a Fulbright University-Students Scholarship holder from Munich. I’ll spend my Fulbright semester here in Long Beach CA at Cal State University LB.
Fulbright showed me, that dreams really do come true, when you only chase them hard enough and don’t give up! Beyond grateful and excited to be here representing Fulbright Germany.

Im Rahmen der Gruppenausstellung „Hyperacuity“ bei der @bode.gallery präsentiert @zaferforever (Zafer Urun) Arbeiten, die unsere visuelle Wahrnehmung herausfordern. Seine Werke zeichnen sich durch eine beeindruckende haptische Qualität aus. Textur und Tiefe werden so geschichtet, dass die Bilder je nach Lichteinfall und Blickwinkel ihre Energie verändern.

Nicht ohne Grund wurde er von Artsy als eines der „Must-See“ Highlights des Gallery Weekend Berlin 2026 gefeatured!
