New month… new Substack post! ✨

Hey everyone! I hope you’ve been enjoying the month so far.

This week, we have an article by Zafirah Badmus (@zafi.b), a Nigerian-English graduate of the University of Cambridge with interests in ethics, political, feminist, and post-colonial philosophy. Zafirah’s commitment to both rigour and creativity has informed her work with the V&A East Youth Collective, where she has helped shape and improve access in museums.

She was also a writer and editor for the first posterzine edition of 4AP!

She believes that drawing on a wide range of disciplines and ways of thinking is essential to architectural practice, as it fosters both curiosity and a grounded approach.

We agree too!

Her article genuinely made us reflect on what the term “decolonising” really means, and we hope it prompts you to do the same, questioning the language we often use without fully understanding it. by @zafi.b

studying in cam for the past 3 years has been one of the most magical and in the same breath one of the most difficult and trying things i will probably ever experience. I find it hard to believe I got to the end (though definitely not unscathed) and achieved what I wanted to. nevertheless, I’m extremely proud to say that I’ve graduated and i looked good doing it too (if I do say so myself!). I will miss it dearly :)
