Gigi… we did it. 🤍🥹 Today I got accepted into nursing school. A moment I dreamed about, cried over, doubted myself over, and almost gave up on… but you never stopped believing in me.

Thank you for raising me, loving me, and preparing me for this world regardless of the circumstances. Everything good in me carries pieces of you.

I hope you and Pop Pop are proud of me. I miss y’all more than words can explain. Some days I still reach for the phone. Some days I still need my best friend. I wish y’all were here for this. I wish I could see your smiles and celebrate this moment with you.

You passed me the torch… and I promise to keep it lit forever. 🤍

I remember sitting there, going through these seizure-like episodes over and over, wondering what would happen to both of you if I died from this. Who would take care of you? Would you remember everything I tried to do for you? Should I start writing letters confessing my love for you so you would never forget? Would you even remember me?

I had so many questions while they tried to figure out what was wrong with me. Each episode felt like I was getting closer to leaving you forever.

But then it hit me—the one question I should’ve been asking myself: Why am I giving up on you so quickly? It was never my time to go! I can’t leave my babies yet! It was just my time to fight a little harder for myself and for the people I love.
