i didn’t think i would have to write this for a very long time. my heart is broken, and i cannot believe your time with us was cut short. yesterday, my pops lost his battle with cancer. as much as it hurts, im so glad he is now at peace and no longer suffering. goodbye, to one of my favorite people on this planet. i am forever grateful to have been put on the same earth as pops, and been able to live my life so far with him by my side. he was unlike anyone i’ve ever met, his spirit was strong and it will live forever. right now, i know he is yelling at all of us to shut up and stop crying lol, and wouldn’t want us to be sad, but its so hard without you here. im so lucky that i got to spend the last two years living with him, and got to come home to him every single day with the greeting “hey captain red!” and a great big hug. his love for all of his kids (his dog Gemma) and grandkids was so strong, and will never go away. there is a hole in my heart, all of our hearts. I will think of you always, and not a day will go by for the rest of my life where i don’t love and miss you. every single saturday, i will remember all of the nights where you rylee and aisie danced around the house singing ymca and “saturday night” by the bay city rollers. I will miss you coming into work and buying grilled muffins and coffee milkshakes. I will miss the constant fighting with destiny about who was tanner lol. i will miss coming downstairs for a midnight snack, and then accidentally staying up for another hour sitting on the couch laughing with you. i will miss everything about you. as devastating as this is, you would love how close this has brought the family together, and i know in your last moments surrounded by everyone, you knew how loved you were. we will take such good care of Gemma for you. im so blessed that i got to call you my pops. i love you so much and always will,

if you knew my dad, you know he was the funniest guy in the world. he was always walking around with his huge ipad in his hand watching joe rogan or matt rife laughing his butt off throughout the house lol. he had the biggest heart and was always trying to push me to do new things and go new places and have fun. i started playing softball last year and i had never seen him so excited, he started coming up every friday to see me and help me practice, and while he was here he would always offer to take my friends out too, even when he didn’t really have the money to do so. in the past couple months of his life, he really tried so hard to turn it around. he was so motivated and so happy to be alive, and really did, in my opinion turn his life around. he always texted me and told me to be greatful for everything, especially my mom, and constantly told me what an amazing mother she was and to remember it. he didn’t take anything for granted in life. he thought he was the greatest cook, and was soo proud of himself whenever he could whip together some rice or pasta with chicken, he would tell me he felt like Gordon Ramsey. im going to miss him walking around with his ipad watching comedy videos while eating mashed potato pizza or key lime pie. it’s devistating that he wont be able to see me tumble again, or throw around a softball with me, see me graduate or walk me down the isle. he deserved to live a much longer life. hug your loved ones while you can, you never know when you wont have the chance to do so anymore.
